FPS Lag during Gameplay

Hey, I was wondering if anyone else has been suffering from lag in gameplay this year?
I was able to play on 4k Maxed settings with 2k19 but its a different story for 2k20.
Here's my PC specs:
Intel i7-8700k 3.70GHz
24GB Ram
GeForce GTX 1080

Not sure with nvidia card, but using the in game settings that Dee4Three suggest in an earlier thread+setting my FPS at 60 instead of whatever the card ran at, solved the problem for me.
My FPS was jumping anywhere from 60 to 175.
