CLASSIC SEASONS MOD 86-97 ** 1986 REVAMP DONE **

Thanks so much all who worked on this! If it is still being worked on, can we get Larry Legend looking more 1992 and less 1982 ?

Some more feedback/suggestions after a look through:


Using old Staff Portrait photos for players is an immersion killer. Best to go with Cyberface portraits for those players or all players until we are at a point where all players have proper photo portraits.

Any way to turn off commentary stories talking about moddern NBA Players? I only ask because I knew a method to do it in past gen 2k games

Visually:

Lots of shoe and sock color issues. The dreaded black shoes/black socks.

The Pacers shouldnt have black socks/black sneakers.

A handful of teams wore Black Sneakers in the playoffs, which maybe is what is causing the confusion if you guys are relying on google images alone. But the most accurate way to set it is White across the board. Go in and Add black sneakers in the playoffs if you want. These were always worn with white socks however.

Of course the big standout

The Boston Celtics should not ever wear White Sneakers in this era

Black Sneakers and White socks home and away

No teams should wear black socks in fact. White sneakers home and away, white socks home and away. Its an across the board fix.

PLEASE fix and hopefully kill this legacy issues for retro mods once and for all!

So, quick thoughts:

1) Hadn't thought about the photos yet, but will look into it. Would be nice to have some decent photos in there....or just not at all. Probably will just remove them all for now. Would be cool to have some retro 16-bit sega genesis Bulls vs. Blazers portraits in there hahaha! Okay, maybe just really good portraits instead.
2) Turning off commentary would be good. No clue on this yet. Suggestions would be helpful! Do you have any? PM if you want.
3) I agree on the shoes comments. Will look into this with Mick as that is his area. You are dead on with the Celtics. Will work on that adjustment. Same with socks. Its not game break like having nicknames in there, but it is something that needs fixed for sure!

I do know we hope to have a massive update on this in several days fixing many of the bigger catches already referenced (coaches, stadiums, years pro, etc.). We will also make a much easier MOD folder so you can just "drop it" and have everything all at once and easy to install.

Stay tuned for updates. I will rename the post slightly and update the main page when we are ready. I've got a couple extra eyes on this with me now which will help!

hahaha! Well, we only have two options with his CF. He looked better in NBA 2k17. I'll reach out to a couple of guys and see if they can update. I agree he doesn't look like the clean cut version he had in early 90s.

Admittedly, I dont know what is possible/available with modding next gen 2K compared to 2k14 and prior but I thought I'd share the suggestions. I'd say getting one of the greatest basketball players of all time to look era specific is a worthwhile venture for some cyberface maker though.

For what your doing, Aloncho's 1992 mod is a great base and should be used for consulting in pretty much every area. They even had many accurate signature animations in that one.

This is a great MOD. Congrats. A job well done. To all those involved with the creation of this MOD. As a fan of the game I thank you. I wish i had half the talent you all have.
Now if some one could come up with a way to shorten the shorts in the Unifom creator in myleague so you can create an expansion team to fit the era.

played a great game last night with Bulls vs Knicks with some 90s sliders i downloaded from someone
I did add the warmups back to the Bulls/Knicks because there's retro warmups available and I hate the look of bench warmers in their jerseys when they are not playing lol
I think I'm going to do the same with the others who have their 90s retro warmups in the game

Thanks! PeacemanNOT and Mickachiste did an amazing job over the past few days to get things cleaned up.

I know there is already more update coming in 1992 Season Mod v1.1! There will be some more polishing done, that is for sure! (Karl Malone and Reggie Miller with hair as an example).
