With the #10 Pick, from Duke University - Cam Reddish

Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:40 am

Hey guys, this is my first mod in a LONG time. I've been trying to learn the ins and outs of blender, and working with these new files. I'm still not completely happy, as I think the eye shape can use some work, but messing with the eyes has been a HEADACHE this year. I used MonkeyManJV's hair texture and texture as a base to work from, but completely overhauled w/ new texture overlays, COMPLETE headshape tweak from Robert Williams as a base. Feel free to give thoughts, feedback. I've just been looking at it for the past 3 days, so my eyes are tired of trying to pick it apart, haha. I know the hair needs to be darkened, but I'm not completely sure how to do that yet. I fit it to his head, but I haven't messed with those textures just yet.

Looks incredible! Only thing I’d say is lower the eyebrows/brow. He has a constant surprised look in these that aren’t indicative of his resting face. Nice work though!

That’s good for a first mod in a while.

Nice work man, helpful hint with the eyes, if you are sculpting the face hide the eyes in edit mode first this will mean you cant sculpt the eyes themselves and it prevents eye popping glitches

Wow, seems cool. Guess his face should be slightly wider.

That is EXTREMELY helpful. Where or how do you hide them? If you don't mind. And is it just the "Eyes", or is it the lashes, eye cavity, etc?

I had thought about shrinking it vertically a bit, to make the appearance of it being wider. In Blender it looks wide, in game it looks like he's got a bigger head than he should.

Appreciate that man. I have went back in and messed with them a bit. I'll try t import it and see how it looks in game. His face is just insanely difficult to capture.

So in edit mode find the vertex groups and then you can them to only select the eyes, then press H to hide it.
And I no what you mean about cam being hard to capture, it was a nightmare for me
