Talk about NBA 2K19 here.

NBA 2K19 Bootleg Footage

Postby PeacemanNOT on Fri Jul 20, 2018 10:00 pm

Just thought I might create a thread where we can share bootleg footage videos compiling gameplay of 2K19. Here's a 10 minute long video that I found, unfortunately it's quite blurry:

It's always people that completely stink at the game. The video starts off with like 7 turnovers in a row, followed by chucking threes over and over and over again immediately after getting up the floor.

I'm still seeing skating, anybody else see that?

We need to produce a YouTuber of our own so he can go at events like this. It is too expensive to be a YouTuber in Turkey, as life is too expensive and my nation is heading towards poverty.

Alright people, be honest. No sugarcoating, none of that. This game looks identical to 2K18, the way the players are moving around is exactly the same. Watch the players feet, watch the skating/sliding of the players feet.......

Look at the court, and the dark crowd, and the size of freaking Klay Thompsons head. Look at the drives to the hoop, look at the blow bys. Look at the animations when these guys are trying to do moves with LeBron going to the hoop, if the scoreboard wasn't slightly different, every single one of you would think this was 2K18.

Sorry but, if this is basically the same as 2K18, I will not be moving onto it. Ill be playing Live 19, 2K17, AOIT and Madden 19 this fall/winter/spring.

I'm not surprised, but I'm angry.

Yep I felt the same way when watching it, you could fool me into thinking that they were playing 2K18. I'm obviously going to have to wait to actually play the game for myself, and more so the prelude to see if the developers have actually changed anything.

I do find it funny though watching OS pan out as all the 2K shills are trying their hardest to shut down any criticism or bashing of the game. It's a never ending cycle over there. Live needs to get on PC soon because I need a change of scenery from 2K, shit is exhausting.

I'll probably end up buying the game just to mod it, but I'll just get one of those cheap keys for like 20 dollars if i do.

I haven't watched the videos since I am on vacation and don't really have enough mbs to do that but from what I've read here and even on the OS, people are generally disappointed. I mean if plenty of people on os are complaining you know it's bad. And since I grew to really dislike 2k as a company and 2k18 as a game I really really hope that Live 19 is going to be a good game because I want it to be with all my heart and this is their chance.

I really loved the all around the world courts and 5on5 nba gameplay seemed nice.

I will probably preorder Live 19 after trying the demo out, about 2k19, still haven't decided, will wait for the demo as well and see, but if the news and impressions are correct, looks like I won't

Can't trust the Prelude. Look at last year. Looked good in Prelude, but when game was released it was nothing like Prelude.

I personally didnt think the stadiums could get any darker :) haha :) soon the stadiums will be a wall of black :) :) 1 vertical mesh... 1 black texture in 4k :) :) :) Most definitley marketed as !!!!!!NEW 4K StADIUMS!!!!!

infact, just get rid of the benches, the coaches, the sideline reporters, the stands and make it look like the mormon church basketball gymns that i spend my youth playing on :) haha :)

my theory is that the console cpu cant handle graphics rendering and behind the scene gameplay processes..... so they cut back the graphics resources. anyways, that's my theory. probably won't get another good looking game until the next gen console..... of course, that is all complete speculation. there's gotta be a bottlneck somewhere (cpu, ram, ram bandwith, gpu) that made them pull back the stadiums even more.

completely agree. Luckily we have 2k17 & 2k18 & 2k14 & 2k11 & 2k10 to play (depending on personal preference) with excellent mods for both those games.

And a sidenote: hooray for madden on pc. been playing madden 08/07/04 so long. cant wait to start digging through hex and seeing if the folks over at footballidiot can make the frostbite engine accessible. (the PC fifa consumers have said that frostbite isn't modder accessible, but they might not remember the brilliance that came out of footballfreaks & footballidiots. now the madden folk get a crack at it. should be interesting.)

but, back on topic, if the 2k20 is cut back even more graphically, then for sure, there is a console hardware bottleneck. that or 2k needs to be better optimized.

Just watched this whole thing.

First off, hilarious about Joe and others from Operation Sports playing the game with Smoove and Mike Wang and the devs.... and you wonder why OS is always shutting down any crtiiscm of the game. What a joke. That site is so biased, and Mike Wang and the devs know that they need to have those dudes in the palms of there hands, them and the popular youtubers.

Second, the blow by defense part was really interesting. Smoove didn't even sound convinced himself, and he kept saying it's "still in the game". Remember my defense thread where I had people fighting me on it? Now, not only is Smoove admitting it up and down on here, but Mike Wang also admitted how big of a problem it was, and it was clearly ruining gameplay offline and online, to think I wasted so much of my time fighting deniers on it. I even had people telling me that my game itself was broken, or that it wasn't loading right. The shit I put up with in that thread, I'm tellin ya.

Third off, skating wasn't addressed at all. Not one mention of it, it's a huge eyesore and it feels unnatural. Of course they wouldn't mention that.

Fourth, nothing about Durants 100 mph unrealistic dribbling? Am I the only one that thinks the dribbling in 2K18 was unrealistically fast for so many players? Nobody can dribbling like that, not even the best dribblers, and they are certainly not doing that in a game. It looks ridiculous, and SO MANY players could do it in 2K18. What happened to authenticity?

So this video did nothing for me, it didn't convince me that positive changes have occurred in the least. If anything, it just pissed me off even more because of the crap I had to deal with in regards to 2K18's blow by defense, and the fact that the OS guys are chilled with the devs and Wang, while silencing criticism.

Unreal.

All these events are always oversaturated with Youtubers who will never criticise the game and loosen ties with 2K. They're literally just there to promote the game, and I bet they'll invite the same people to the community day too. In regards to OS, the excuse that they keep making over there is "the game isn't even out yet". Some guy told me I was being toxic because I was criticising the games deceptive screenshots. Although it is a bit of stretch and only a theory... I would hardly call it toxic. I mean I don't know what his idea of toxicity is but to me I was pretty mild (I could be complaining a lot more).

Out of everyone Smoove is the only real person there than can actually speak up and everyone would listen, I mean if it wasn't for him none of those other Youtubers would even be there. Smoove himself has been pretty vocal in the past about the game and it's flaws, but for some reason it seems like he's just taking a step back as of late. He hasn't been uploading 2K videos as frequently and I'm pretty sure this is like the first event he's actually gone to in years (not too sure about this). It's times like these I wish the NLSC could have a representative to go to these events and give our gripes on the game. But honestly at this stage I feel like giving any feedback to these developers is pointless... I mean how much are they really going to change to the game from now to release?

Our dreams are the same :?

But I always thought 2k will not do a serious changes probably until 2k20

by then their main occupation is just about new scoreboard every two years and maybe new menus

oh yes and maybe big words about new defense system or amazing shot meter

and you know what 2k In my opinion they lost the desire to create something real and new

and if we talking about dreams so in my dream i can see Live 19 on my origin account (Y)

Yes, maybe live 20, but live has no retro teams. A heard that 2k14 use a third party company to graphics, and this is very expensive, this explain the downgrade of 2k15~, but not explain the downgrade in gameplay and motion.

I find that hard to believe. 2K makes more than double the game sales from VC and microtransactions alone, they have all the money in the world for development. They can absolutely afford an increased effort from the art team, but they choose not to. They can afford to get Barkley in the game by donating to the NBRPA, but they don't, because it's not funding the 2K League or Playground development. They didn't renew the Euroleague license, because a majority of the 2K fanbase felt that "nobody plays as those teams anyway." Nearly all the fans who buy the 2K series now don't even use the NBA teams, but instead just hop on street ball. 2K can make excuse after excuse, but since the fans turn a blind eye to everything wrong with the 2K franchise now, literally any excuse can be made. Look at all of the comments we've made about the dark arenas, the unrealistic shade of the courts, lack of reflections, etc. None of that's going to get addressed any time soon, since we're not playing favorites by pandering to the developers.

It's sad to go on Youtube, and see how whenever someone mentions the downgrade of the overall graphics, the general response is, "it's basketball, what more do you want upgraded lol", or something like, "you complain about the graphics, but live's graphics are ass lol." What makes it even more sad, is that you have people also defending the game by saying that it "isn't the real 2K19", and how it's still not released, yet hypocritically bash on Live's graphics by saying that the game is close to being finished, and there's nothing they'll improve on.

TLDR; The downgraded grraphics are because it doesn't benefit Playground development, doesn't help fund the 2K League, the biased fans not even playing the actual game (and pretending to know basketball, mind you), and 2K thinking that they've become untouchable.
