In previous years, the Early Tip-Off Weekend was a pre-order bonus across all versions of the game, so they were meant to unlock at the same time (and did). This year, Early Tip-Off is exclusive to the 20th Anniversary Edition, so in theory it will unlock early while pre-orders of the Standard Edition will have to wait. Whether it all goes smoothly and to plan is yet to be seen I suppose, but that is the difference this year.

Figures, they unlock the version that costs $100.00 first. Well, I guess I'll have to wait, not paying 100 bones for it. What is the major difference between the standard and anniversary version anyway?

I believe their keys are worldwide. If there are any restrictions, they tend to be listed on the store page.

What is your platform? For PC the price for Anniversary edition in Russian and CIS Steam is just about 50$ (I just bought in 1st of Sept for 3 199 RUR) so I don't see the point to use GMG.

It did indeed. It's becoming standard practice, along with WWE 2K's tendency to hold out wrestlers as pre-order bonuses/exclusives.

I don't necessarily disagree with early access as pre-order bonus on higher edition, it just rubs us wrong way since we had that for "free" before.

What I'd like to see is making the deluxe editions more worth it in other ways, ideally physical collectables.

Actually i'm just a penniless student, so 600 RUR economy is fine for me.

For sure, that is the issue. If this was a new exclusive with the 20th Anniversary Edition, or it had always been exclusive to the more expensive editions, it wouldn't be quite as bad. We'd probably still grumble, but the fact that it was previously available across all editions makes it seem a little more greedy.

2K gives a fuck about the PC-Version so I still doubt they will not just activate all Version at the same time. Having two different Release-Dates would probably cause more harm than good and I don't even know if you can release different Depots seperately on Steam. Most likely, but 2K has no support on Steam, they have not made a single Post on Steam in forever.

But seriously, who would pay more money for 4 extra Days? After the terrible Games the last 2 Years I won't buy it for now anyways unless it gets great Reviews, but even then I'll most likely wait a few Weeks until the Season started. I already have current Rosters with Cyberfaces and all that, thx to the Modding-Community and we all know how unplayable and buggy the Games are on Release.

The Early Access is advertised on Steam and they don't need two depots for that. Just give access to people with package "2K19 deluxe" on 7th and then on the 11th you give access to "2K19 std" (package names are different but you get the idea).

This is nothing new for steam and you can do region locks for CD Key activated versions easily.
And also how testing is done pre-release. You allow access to only people with dev package.

CD keys just split their 2k19 keys into US and Europe.
Seems like there is region lock again...
I hope I still can get a working key from them since I preordered v early.
