Having played online quite a bit in recent years along with grinding up a player in the NBA portion of MyCAREER and spending some time in MyTEAM, I'd have to say it's definitely noticeable. It certainly explains why there isn't any proper matchmaking across the online modes. It doesn't fill me with hope that things are going to get better in that regard.

An interesting/eye opening video.

I've just got back into playing 2K19 recently and I was able to grind enough in MyTeam to collect some coins and get some decent players. I usually hit the proverbial brick wall of getting paired up with overpowered teams with all Galaxy Opal lineups. There's always that feeling of "if I had some coins....I'd be able to be better" and it's not surprising 2K is feeding on that. Working in a field that works with big data collection, I'm surprised I didn't think of the amount of data 2K is collecting from the game and how they're able to shape an individual's experience.

He's been doing some really good work. It's earned him some ire, but with some of these practices becoming more and more intrusive to the experience, it's important that he speaks out.
