The defense is broken - VIDEO #3 WITH SLIDER TWEAKS!

Kinda sad we're arguing which of the last 2 2k games is less broken

I've seen this video months ago, i didnt use this trick on 2K17. Call me stupid if you want.

But it's the same severity. You can have the best defense in 2K17, if you call this system, the AI make shit in defense and it's an easy bucket all game long.
I could use the same arguments you use for 2K18.

That doesnt mean that i deny 2K18 drive problem.

Just dont bring the sticky 2K17 defense back...that was frustrating

As I did with 2K18, I will show video of how it absolutely is not as easy.

And, my statement stands.

Also, 2K17 was broken after the patches (after January) for the most part. The game felt like we were stuck in the mud, it wasn't much fun, and I agree that it's sad.

2K17 pre January is the best 2K I've ever played. They hurt the game so bad with the 2017 patches.

However, the 2K18 thing is an absolute killer.

the defense is "broken" in both games, in different ways.

im not a fan of the new motion system. although responsive, its very sloppy and screws up the game flow.

the fast breaks and spastic defenders in 17 were atrocious, no matter which version of the game you're playing. it existed in all versions. it's absolutely game breaking user vs cpu.

16 imo is the all around winner. it's the most balanced, polished gameplay experience to me. glad I went back to it.

The defense in 17 is not broken all the way around, especially not in the earlier versions. We can agree to disagree on that.

16 was slow as hell. Players felt heavy and moving laterally was a nightmare. The pace was dreadful. I didn't enjoy 16.

The point is: the new motion system as you put it is sloppy (which I have stated before) it causes skating and out of control gameplay. On top of that, the driving whenever you want with whoever you want issue, giant heads for a good majority of the players, marshmallow bodies, dark arenas, dead atmosphere, so on and so on. I could put up with the art follies if the game had stellar gameplay. Or even good gameplay.

But the game is an absolute mess.

That's a good summary of it. The responsiveness on the sticks is nice in some respects, but there's also a looseness to it that results in skating and a sloppy feel.

With the new patch last night, and with all CPU defensive sliders jacked to 100. I drove successfully and scored 8 times in a row with Al Jefferson.

As in, I just ran to the hoop from the perimeter with Al Jefferson and dominated. The defense didn't adjust, no help came, just ran to the hoop and scored.

I scored 22 in the first quarter just driving with Joe Ingles, although actually that's pretty realistic. Nobody can stop JOE INGLES!

I actually really like his game, I like it more because he doesn't really look like a basketball player.

First I want to say... HAHAHA to 500.

Honestly. I give you major props for even trying that. The fact that we are going to these extremes is hilarious.

So here we go, your newest sliders, I just put this video together.

First part of the video I am ISO'ing 100% from the perimeter with Hassan Whiteside against Rudy Gobert, or whoever else was guarding him. I went 6-9 from the floor, and was up by 6 when I stopped the video. Also, HOW BAD IS THE CPU IN THIS GAME???? the Jazz were like 3-19 from the field... every time I play the CPU, no matter which team, they are so easy to stop.. they are absolutely horrible. In my opinion, this is the worst AI in a very long time.

Also! Watch the 3rd highlight, the burst of speed randomly by Whiteside, do you realize how stupid that looks? Its the game forcing the guy on my side and making me burst to the hoop. It looks so silly.

Second part is me using Evan Turner on Leonard. Now, I did shoot just under 40% from the field with straight line drives, but it was still SO easy to run past him. In fact, you will see several of my misses were right at the hoop. Another thing I want to point out, doing 0 moves and running past the best defender in the league with Evan Turner, and even succeeding that much, is a problem. The other thing is, with these settings, the game feels sluggish, slow, and very unrealistic. I didn't enjoy moving around the court at all.

I applaud you for the effort, and for the 500 (So funny), but you see that even with the most extreme adjustments, the system is silly and flawed. Now, with your sliders, it seems that i have even more success getting to the hoop with big guys and finishing than I am with quick forwards. So, should my strategy if I use these sliders be to ISO my big guys? I mean, I can run in from the outside and just throw it down.

Well, we cant fix the ISO cheat system. But IMO, it's the result expected.

Not really tested (but no crash), and not released (probably this week-end).

I just played some more 2k17 vs cpu and the defense is a nightmare. it's just a jumbled mess where ai defenders have no sense of where they are on the court. the paint way as well be considered mid court, because there's nothing sacred about it - help never comes for either the player or cpu. ugh, uninstalled that mess real quick lol.

First off, stop with the breaking defense. The defense isn't breaking, that's the gameplay.

Second off, stop making excuses for this defense.

Also, 2K17 is not a jumbled mess for me on HOF or with adjusted sliders, furthermore, it's not a mess on the earlier .exes.

I much prefer 2K17 defense to the mess that is 2K18. I score far easier in the half court on 2K18.

Sliders that keep me from driving to the hoop like you did are actually ball handling and ball collison thingy. When I lower them, I cannot drive with big men like this because the defender will knock the ball loose.

That doesn't fix it for me for some reason.

Also, do you guys realize how ridiculous this is? The extremes needed in order to even try to curve this defense. Sticky tried putting help defense at 500.
