There must be a hidden rating that they add or subtract from to get some players' overalls higher or lower than otherS

I read the article earlier.

As I understand it, the Intangibles attribute is good for fudging overall ratings as needed these days.

Can we work on intangibles for my player this year? How?

So Stauffer and his staff will watch hours of archival footage to procure an accurate rating. And archival footage is especially important to rate NBA legends like the late Wilt Chamberlain, who played before statistics were so intimately tracked.

LOL

I'm not sure if we can do it for MyPLAYERs this year.

I was surprised to find out how serious some players take their ratings. John Wall crying about being a 90 ovr was especially funny.

I still can't understand the interest of rating players to 100 with no player under 50 and no attribute under 25

Perhaps a few too many players have felt insulted over the years. Around the time of NBA Live 2005, there were players with overalls in the 20s and 30s.

One of them is not exactly hidden, you can see it in effect by changing player positions, even though the ratings don't change, their role does which alters the value of each individual rating's contribution to the overall.

I've thought ever since Live brought in the Synergy DNA and 2K brought in the same type of stuff that they could have just dropped ratings for raw statistical values. They could still use the letter grade summations for categories. Or I guess just display it as automatically derived percentiles.

For the older players, yeah, someone has to do it by hand, but for everyone else it seems like it could be mostly automated rather than done by hand.

If Leftos is going to program all that into the game anyway...
