Whered you get your giannis card? I'd like to have him as my backup pf
I really like how my team is shaping up. I'll have to post a pic when I get a chance
Wed Jan 10, 2018 10:45 am
Found him in the Auction House; I didn't even know Giannis had a gold card tbh. Got him for 15k, but I'm assuming that his gold is a very rare card. From what I've seen, his stats are some of the best I've seen from a gold card.
I'd love to see what your team looks like, so take a screenshot whenever you can

Those are some brutal blowouts!

Lin was the first gold card i bought in the AH when I didn't have any money. First Legend I bought was Payton. I had to have him because (surprise, surprise) he plays just like my character. Gets steals whenever I want. I built my team based on the way I play on offense. A lot of pick n roll, usually score enough with one guy to get him doubled then find the open guys for 3. I needed a Center and didn't have anyone in mind, but I bought Kemp and put him there as I needed someone who's good on D and REBs. I got Xmas Redick because I wanted a 90+ sniper who's still decent on defense.
I just got the Wiggins hero card and it's identical to the Xmas one I had lol
also, Gary Payton and Gary Payton II on the same team

Nice team you got there! Love that connection of having both Paytons on the same team btw. I'm looking forward to the legends pack tomorrow (especially if it's the Celtics, Blazers, or Spurs).
PS, I found a gold Giannis going on auction for bids only (starts at 4,500), so if you can, check it out - it lasts 16 hours iirc.

I've been meaning to upgrade my kuzma to the 85 ladder version and wound up dropping 51k to get one after posting that lol
Didn't intend to, but I got Kemp and Payton on the same team which is cool. Feels like NBA jam on a fast break with nique and Kemp dunking over everyone
I noticed there are new master challenges without needing heroes so I will work on getting warriors and totw players for cheap in the AH to get Curry

Found a LUT producer who gives hints on Thursday's legends the day before.

inb4 the Spurs legends hints look like this:

Edit: Looks like the Magic will be featured tomorrow with a hint of Pennywise, so maybe we will see Hardaway, McGrady, possibly another Shaq, and maybe prime Dwight (might be stretching it here)
Thu Jan 11, 2018 12:07 pm
Vin Diesel definitely seems to be hinting at Shaq.
Thu Jan 11, 2018 12:16 pm

Have a lot of players up on the auction block. Magic T-Mac and Shaq are must haves in my opinion.
Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:37 pm
I think what I want more than magic legends are both 90s magic jerseys as throwbacks
Thu Jan 11, 2018 7:25 pm
Ah, that would be cool.

Without a doubt, these are the best legends released; true gamebreakers right here!

Current lineup:

Today must've been Shaq-happy since I pulled two Shaqs, and a trial Shaq card. Going to sell Diesel so I can get Mac.
Fri Jan 12, 2018 9:14 am
Pulled 2 T-Mac's. I'm in the process of selling one but here is the team so far.
Fri Jan 12, 2018 10:41 am
Alright, seems like a good time for me to get stuck into LUT for a couple of days.

Dude mcgrady is a stud. Even on the easy difficulty, he still owned redick, mbah a moute, and Wilkins
I was hoping for a shaq card to sell but I got tmac and I might wind up keeping him
This mode is a lot of fun now with all these legends. UT was fun on live 15 but it was hard to build your team up.

After much procrastination and telling myself I'd start building my LUT, I played a few games this evening. I've got a couple of short term cards that I'm putting to use while building my lineup. I gave the Magic Legends challenge a try, and man, McGrady is unstoppable! I mounted a comeback in the fourth but it came up short, mostly because Curry could not hit a three. Waste of one of his three games trying to use him there, he didn't help at all.
I did pick up Taj Gibson for cheap in the Auction House, and he's pretty effective. Surprisingly, Cole Aldrich at 69 Overall had a couple of good games for me, including a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Definitely interesting trying to put the low cards to good use while trying to build your squad. At this point, I think I'm going to have to get stuck into the League Heroes challenges.

I would start with the easier training camp challenges and the featured ones they have every week. Almost all games are on rookie or pro so early on I used poorly rated Tyler zeller or Joel Anthony on pick and rolls for easy buckets. The key for me was doing the playstyle challenges that give you overrated specialist cards so I got abrines and Justin Jackson who were rated 85 and 86 in 3s
If you want to build your team up quickly, I would continue to scour the AH for cheap deals as you can find them once in a while. When the game was launched, you couldn't get a gold card for less than 2000 but they are a bit more common now so you might be lucky enough to snag one for 1500 or less
Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:00 am
Yeah, that's how I got Gibson. I'm working through the remaining Training Camp challenges at the moment, too.
Mon Jan 15, 2018 3:23 am
Currently doing the master curry series to try to save up enough coins for a second Magic legend. Enjoying the difficulty and challenge as most of the mode is just way too easy.
Also I think someone said that the number on the card isn't their in-game rating? I don't get it,what is it for then? Just like a general overall card value?
Mon Jan 15, 2018 5:03 am
I don't know how the overalls work in LUT, because I do see them being different. Off the top of my head Mutombo (86), McGrady (93), Wilkins (92), and Shaq (94), appear with a 78, 89, 85, and 85 respectively on the substitutions and rosters screens, so I have no clue which are correct.
Also taking in fact that overall ratings are very inconsistent with the visible stats on each card, for example Wes Unseld is a 91 overall, yet Amar'e Stoudemire has better visible stats, yet he's an 89 overall.
Mon Jan 15, 2018 9:35 am
Yeah, it's kind of weird and very confusing. I usually base my opinions off the stats on the card.
Wound up getting a 2nd tmac and was a little disappointed with what he was fetching in the AH. I was hoping for a Shaq to be able to sell for a ton of coins.
Mon Jan 15, 2018 11:09 am
I was able to sell Shaq for 190k when he first came out, because of Shaq's popularity as a player. From what I've seen, prices can vary to a player's popularity, or based mainly on three point ratings.
Best example I can find is McGrady on release vs Glen Rice on Thursday. When people looked at McGrady's ratings, they found out that he was a better offensive player than Rice (who at the time was considered the best offensive player), and I saw some Rice cards going for 80k, but since people started to drop the price for auctioning McGrady, Rice went back to being worth 200+k mainly because of his three point rating (same with Chuck Person being in the 150+k range).
Popularity is also in consideration, because before the Magic challange, even Shaq's Cavs card went for about 80+k, even though Cavs Kemp had superior stats.
