On defense, I never cover my opponent when he's outside any more. No need to. Just sit back and wait for them to pass or try to drive. I've left players like Thomas, Curry, and players of that ilk, all alone out there and they don't shoot. Just wish the rest of my team would forget about defending outside so I don't have to try to stop their opponent when they drive.
It's a huge problem.
Both NBA 2K18 and NBA Live 18 defense have major issues. Both are disappointing in a big way. On one hand, I can drive by anybody with anyone at any time on NBA 2K18, and on Live I can just leave players open on the perimeter and not play defense because they don't shoot. On 2K18, I can hold the Jazz to 3-19 shooting while I drive in from the perimeter with Hassan Whiteside on every posession, and blow them out, with CPU sliders jacked to 100. In Live, I can drive by my opponent with Chris Johnson and score on acrobatic layups on 3 people a good majority of the time.
Both games are disappointing to me this year. I think the AI in both games is incredibly weak, and that makes the user vs user gameplay suffer as well, because we can't control all 5 players at once at all times.
NBA Live 18 is better than 16 in my opinion, but it still has a ways to go. NBA 2K18 is a step backwards in my opinion for 2K.
Being a big basketball gamer/fan, this fall has had me scratching my head, it's also been sad for me. Both 2K18 and Live 18 have already gotten boring gameplay wise (2K18 has never been exciting for me).
