Still awaiting an official announcement as of this post, but it looks like
it's been leaked.

We are expecting an official announcement, video, and perhaps more from EA SPORTS on Wednesday or later this week.

Sim game confirmed.

Looks like the article has been deleted, so official confirmation may be further off than we thought. Really hoping the preview season properly tips off soon. As you said in the other thread, zz, we could be waiting until August.

I am both very suprised and excited now. We''ll see what happens next.

[Q], Here's the Thumbnail for the video

Looks like he's in the new Rockets jersey as well. I'd imagine the NBA wasn't very pleased.

I did think about Harden being on the cover.

I also thought about them poaching James Harden from 2k too.
Hopefully they didn't focus Live 18's defence on him.

lol, you can play defense better in 18 than in 16. Although the defense in the Drew League was better than in the play now mode for some reason

Different default sliders, maybe?

100% the case. I'm playing NHL 18 right now on the competitive sliders, cause that's where everyone is, and it's so terrible, but offline, the slider tweaks are amazing. I'm sure they will do the same for the demo being released with NBA Live.

It just goes to show the importance of sliders, and proper tuning in modes where we can't adjust the sliders.

I do think its strange that we're this close to playing the game and it still doesn't have an official cover.

I think they will reveal a couple of days before the demo drops, keeps the hype train going

I remember it took a while for them to reveal Damian Lillard as the cover player of NBA Live 15. In a way, it's nice that we have information on matters of greater consequence and even some gameplay footage before the cover player announcement. The former is definitely more important and relevant in the grand scheme of things. Still, it is a bit unusual to hold off on the reveal of the latter.

At the end of the day the cover player plays no part to what the game plays like, I wouldn't care if I didn't find out till I had the game in my hands as long as the gameplay lives up.

Yeah, back in the day we never really cared that much about the cover player, until EA started doing the teasers and actually made it more of an interesting talking point. I guess it's become more significant in recent years with 2K since they've had pre-order content and sometimes even modes based on the cover player, but at the end of the day, it's just the box art.
