When 3D editing comes around, I think you should definitely work on the model to make it look like the last gen version. The last gen version wasn't great, but it made him look a lot younger. I was going to do it but I'll leave it with you and see what you can do.

quick update...
while messing around in a chinese trainer I discovered there are 28 blank slots for teams.
If we ever figure out how to change team types/ activate teams this could prove useful for roster makers who do not want to overwrite teams.
Also summer league teams have their own slots.

That is the best news I've ever heard. I'm in the process of putting together about 8 new classic teams to go along with completing the in game classic teams... I'm going to hold off on the new teams for a moment to see if we can figure it out.

Nobody did AFAIK. It was Greg's 2K16 roster editor that never got released. Shame too. It was just a few things away from a release when the game got patched so all the addresses the editor was using were fucked.

Hopefully that doesn't happen last year, hopefully we can complete it before the patches start moving everything around.

Well once the game gets patched, the tools would stop working is my point. Only way to truly sit down and develop a memory-based roster editor would be to wait until the last patch is released.

Hey guys, I've seen that 2K added a bunch of new unis last week. Last year new stuff like this was stored in sync file, so I guess we can be optimistic that they won't use this file.

This news jerseys are in SYNC again this year. Update las night here.... all new unis is on 946MB SYNC file.
I think PC update is the same (not released yet). But this one kill us on making Knicks court MOD. =(

Maybe I don't quite understand the SYNC file...
The F file (Floor) and S File (Stadium) numbers wouldn't be changing. Wouldn't the modded folder still take the lead when it comes to what shows up in the game? Like, if we place new F and S files for the Knicks court in the modded folder, wouldn't the EXE pick up THOSE instead when the application is initiated?

Sadly not man, files added to sync overwrite game and modded files. The only way you can avoid it is by turning off the internet and deleting that file.
What leads me to think that if we were able to extract files from sync maybe we could add them to the game offline through modded folder. Don't know if possible, but would be great for just offline players.

Ugh, the SYNC file makes things more complicated. That explains what TBM said happened with Gregs roster editor, a patch was made that screwed with the SYNC making him have to start from scratch (Which at that point it probably wasn't worth it).
I think we are in pretty good shape if we can find out how to activate those empty slots for new teams. It makes it so we can make more rosters/bring in more teams. If that's the case, it wouldn't matter as much about the Knicks court because we could make a completely new Knicks team to take its place if we really want to. I use the amazing court mods for the current teams that you folks make, but I don't personally use the regular teams a lot... So it doesn't impact me personally as much.
However, I care a lot about the community and everybodys interests, so obviously that's a huge bummer.

Actually, it does impact me a little... I was going to start putting together an 07-08 Roster with accurate courts. This would mean that I couldn't import the Bucks or Knicks courts for that year....

In past 2k (but I guess you can do it in 2k16-2k17 also) every team has a floor & stadium associated...so with a good roster editor you can avoid this problem....
for example you can change it to:
KNICKS s914.iff f914.iff

Not yet but they have already done it for PS4. I've been taking a look in the sync file and last roster, new uniforms and myplayer stuff is already there.

We are 9 days since the official release (When MOST people got the game, not the pre-order people). I am still optimistic, we are already ahead of the game compared to last year.
