So I just checked and this information file wasn't in the jersey files last year. I'm guessing they just changed it because it makes patching in jerseys more convenient. I doubt us modders were ever on their minds

When I edited the jersey parameters of the Memphis Grizzlies home jersey to the 96 Seattle Supersonics home jersey, I noticed that it carries over the short lengths etc.

It kinda of made me wondered, why would that carry over? The reason why is because the information is literally in the jersey file itself this year(like player models jersey/accessory type):

I just copied and pasted the 95-96 Supersonics information file into the Grizzlies Jersey file and this is the result:

I feel really stupid having overlooked this. We would have found it eventually but fuck man, how did we not see this lol? It also includes the collar type, the nba patch and a lot of other things too. They have made things a lot easier this year for us. If only they made it so we could attach accessory colours to the jersey files themselves.

Nice find bro. What's going on in the highlighted area of the shorts?

Great! But nothing of what you've done with SearchEngine in wasted....you can now change socks color and team color for alternate's uniforms...

It's not a file. He's already done a tutorial on edit team color 1 & color 2 (amd socks) for away & home so I guess he doesn't need to align anything..... (Y)

Maybe I didn't understand what he was trying to do... I thought he was trying to find where shorts length and collar type were located, and last year it was in the roster file...:P

Anyway great find! It seems that this year some structures have changed. Hopefully they got rid of the freaking SYNC file too, we'll know when they release the first roster update.

IMHO Roster Editor from 2k15 - 2k17 it's only possible using Memory Editor.....SYNC files really makes tricky offline roster editors...

Yep, but getting rid of the sync file would help me to do some cool things with shoes, which were in that freaking file last year. We'll see!

That would be awesome man!however I don't know how easy it can be since it's impossible to do changes in that file ingame. I was trying to figure out that file last year and I found out how to edit the colors of every layer of every shoe in the game, but since the original file was overwritten for other inside sync.bin it was pretty useless.

For curiosity sake...how they did or will update Knicks Court? Will they put a new f014.iff ?

Re: Modding Progress

Thu Sep 29, 2016 1:06 am

Hopefully they don't put it in SYNC.bin.

That's just the detail map of the shorts. You just need to copy over a detail map from one of the retro shorts and it won't glitch like that.

What's up with all the empty archives in the directory? Maybe that's a sign that they're going to patch things into those archives?

Man if it's so we will get rid of sync file, and that's really awesome news

Short length has always been tied to the "Jerseys" tab, even in last gen 2k

Jersey file (uh_bos_current_home.iff), not tab.

I feel like the Shaq 2K put in the game looks like a potato. Would anybody interested in the broadcaster Shaqs face for the 05-06 Heat and 00-01 Lakers? Its a lot more realistic (And he has the goatee).

Let me know.

I think TBM is going to work on that, he did it last year I believe.

Good point. I know how to swap out the leg files (I did it with Kenny Smith because I needed a bald one for the 94-95 Rockets).

Re: Modding Progress

Hey guys, taking a look at shoe files it seems much easier to edit its layer colors at will than last year. Let see if the sync file doesn't arrive to fuck it.

More info soon
