Did you attempt to trade for a player on a team or for a player in the Free Agency pool? It seems that trading for a Free Agent bugs it out but I haven't tried from one of the proper 30 teams.



I just imported like 30 hidden free-agents (Old Duncan, Old Kobe, Stoudemire, the great Mike James and so forth) by creating a random player, assigning him to the Sixers and trading him from there. Then I released the traded player and repeated the process, until I ended up getting all the hidden players I wanted. Trading a guy from the free agent pool doesn't seem to work unfortunately.

By the way, I came across Eduardo Najera from Oklahoma, Jason Richardson from Michigan State, Brian Cook from Illinois and some others. All of them like 90 overall. I wish we could somehow unlock those teams, but they are DLC content, right?

My progress so far:

I tested the swapping of Appearrance.RDAT from NBA 2k17 PNG.iff into NBA 2k16 PNG.iff, and not luck with getting Nash in the game. Yes, I am still trying to get this done because I believe the 2K16 files will work with 2K17. The files side by side are identical...

Has anybody else tried to make this work?

Could you not swap something like Bill Russell's face from 2k17 into 2k16 to see if they are compatible? I wish I could do more on this end but I'm very new to all of this.

Done alitte Court editing so far and it seems to be the similar to last year's only thing that is slightly different is that the FX# kinda look more like shaders in terms of the way their numbered

The face.iff files work from 2k16. I have the TMAC from last year (with added facial hair that EGS MILLR made), and the face.iff of Drexler in there (Bald that TBM made). So those work. The file structure is the exact same for NBA 2k16 and NBA 2k17 PNG's as well, that's why I thought it would work. Maybe I just don't know enough about it.

The goal is to get Nash in the game one way or another. That would have been the easiest way.

BTW, Carlos Boozer is no longer in the files, neither is Marcus Camby. Otherwise, I see everyone else (Including guys like Etan Thomas, Lamar Odom etc etc).

Yeah getting Nash in is for sure a worthy effort.

When I was doing some skimming over ID's I did notice that Gerald Wallace and Danny Granger where gone along with Boozer. Did you happen to see those two by chance?

They are cheating ^_^ tey have specific for only few ....others i suppose using default _000 :P

On youtube I notice Cavs & Warriors were different...that's why they have a specific file....

I just tried the portraits from NBA 2K16 in the Chinese modded folder to see if they work for 2k17, and it didn't work. Just a FYI.

This can 100% be the year if we all work hard. We could put together a best teams roster that includes A LOT of important missing teams (maybe like 10-12 new teams). The fact that you already figured out how to change team names is a huge bonus.

So I think I might have found the short length address, for the 97-98 Bulls. However it froze my game when I tried to open MJ in edit roster.

The problem with my method is that in order to find an address you need to be able to change it, so for example editing the 97-98 Bulls jersey in MyLeague. This sets the shorts to the regular 2016 length... so of course that means you can't change the shorts for normal teams like the Houston Rockets because you can't change their short length at all.

There is a guy on the 3DM forum called guoyao168 and he has a full roster editor (and I mean full, accessory colours, teamnames, everything) Only problem is he charges money for it. I'm pretty sure this is the tool pandahero is using to edit the Viper Roster as well. You can find it here:
