CONSIDERING releasing a V3 of the roster to include the 92-93 Hawks, 85-86 76ers. 14-15 Clippers and maybe two other teams.

I just made this Mookie Blaylock for the 92-93 Hawks, it's a WIP but I think it's looking pretty good.

Not digging the player movement at all from 2K20, so you might see me stick with 2K17 another year.

After the first "stolen" videos, i thought 2K20 was close to 2K17, players seemed most explosive.
But on last videos, with a better quality, it really looks like 2K19, so it's not surprising.

If you plan to add the teams that we talk before for a v3, i think i have made some floors (09 Magic, 14 Spurs) for 2k19 URR mod

That Magic team and the 14-15 Clippers are possibilities.

Not sure how many slots I have left, but I'd like to get the 13-14 Spurs, 92-93 Hawks, and the 85-86 76ers in it.

I have the Hornets spot available as well.

But yeah, changing directions and accelerating on the 2K20 demo feels poor still, and you can see it on the videos. Not a fan. They always talk about sim,sim nation, etc. But when you watch gameplay and have your hands on the sticks, it feels the opposite of that.

Haha! I am 34, turning 35 in a couple months.

So I can remember the 90s, 00s and 10s NBA wise. Which I am thankful for. Basketball has literally been life for me since I can remember.

Nice. Well, I am 41, so not that much older. 90s were fantastic! You just missed the mid-late 80s with prime Magic and Larry too. All good though. You also missed the original "NBA LIVE" that started EVERYTHING: Lakers vs. Celtics! I used to play that for daaaaays when it came out. Although, you would've played the other versions in early 90s (bulls vs blazers, etc.).

Yeah, stop calling yourself old... certainly not.

Yeah Bulls vs Blazers got a lot of play from me, A LOT. I still say Tecmo Super NBA Basketball is one of the most underrated basketball titles from that timeframe. Players had portraits, stats were kept during the season, the pace was faster than Bulls vs Blazers and NBA Showdown, etc. Loved it.

And yeah, caught the end of Bird and Magic, and saw Magics comeback in 95-96. But, luckily full games are all over youtube of both (In prime and young), so I watch as many of those as I can. Thats the beauty of youtube.

Hahaha. I still think I am 22 at heart, Dee. Tecmo Super NBA is sooooo underrated. Used to have wars with friends playing that game back in the day! That game was soooo much faster. I still watch old retro games too. What a different game it was back then...a lot more physical too!

Took a long time to put this together. 2K17 dunk compilation from my brothers and I playing over the last year or so. A lot of cool poster dunks, open floor dunks and alley-oops.

So here is my thought process.

2K20 doesnt beat 2K17 for me gameplay wise. I will more than likely release an update to this mod over the next couple months with even more teams. Trying to decide between the 96-97 Hornets and the 07-08 Hornets for a Hornets team.

Those are both really fun options. Since you already have the 93 Charlotte team, my preference would be 08 since it would represent a New Orleans team. Can't go wrong with either option.

Making some updates to this roster, may be a V3 after all.

Here is accurate Troy Hudson for the 03-04 Wolves. I gave him the wild braids that he had that year.

Looking good. I might need to do a follow up to my Wayback Wednesday on players I remember thanks to video games, because Troy Hudson would be one of them.

Hudson was superb in the old Live games. Some players that have "reps" because of old video games are:

1. Alonzo Gee - Would literally dunk on anybody, he was unstoppable

2. Dan Dickau - My brother Mark scored 100 points with him in a half in NBA Live 2004... it was ridiculous

3. Hasheem Thabeet - So tall, and because of that so unstoppable. Take Thabeet at the end of the draft, and you will still have the most dominant center in the game

4. Etan Thomas - literally broke NBA 2K12 and made it unplayable after a dunk. The game crashed immediately after he threw it down, and could never get past the 3rd quarter after that without crashing

5. Ansu Sesay - you would never believe it, but you could use him like Julius Erving in past games


Many more names come to mind. But those are some of the most memorable for me.

I was able to get some of the "realistic" lighting from 2K16 into 2K17. POSTFTWEAKABLES inside the global from 2K16 works in 2K17.

I tried to mod the lighting in 2K16 and 17, but as long as there's no sxxx_floor_lightmap, the result is less impressive than on 2K18/19.20
Or i havent found.

Just a heads up, a V3 will be released at some point for this.

Some of the new teams that will be added:

17-18 Thunder - (Already finished) - This one is more for my brother
00-01 Mavericks - (For my other brother)
92-93 Hawks
08-09 Magic
13-14 Clippers
90-91 Jazz
85-86 76ers
07-08 Hornets

The goal will be to get to 50 total new classic teams. Thats 8 more above, and am thinking of a good Raptors team and one other. After V3, I would consider this roster complete with no more updates.

The final team may be the 96-97 76ers, but I am on the fence with that at the moment.

If I get around to it, I will update all time teams, but I am currently bouncing back and forth between 2K16 and 2K17 making more teams. 2K16 is the bear right now, because it's not nearly as complete as my 2K17 roster at the moment.

I asked sticky already but Dee you are always online Maybe you have super duper quality court of raptors 1995/96? and you will be able to send me photoshop or png file or maybe you can convert to 2k14?

Dee thank you very much, sry for late respond, i was superb busy. Its little problematic for me, your texture looks great in photoshop, resolution is correct. Imported dds with success but for some reason i see lines of previous court or if i import texture to different court file, court in game is not in good position. Maybe its too shiny but i can live with this. Well maybe i know a little what to do with roster files but it looks im not good in courts. Can you please import in correct way and send me iff file with court? Ofc if its not a big problem. If you need court iff from 2k14 let me know. Thx in advance Dee.

Great discovery! The lighting of 2k16 is so unique and beautiful.
Also great job on the roster, everything feels so right, the tempo and balance,etc, excellent!
