Guys has anybody found out how to swap players jerseys with clothes in the court? For example I want to play as Ernie Johnson, I want him to use his suit along his cyberface in the court.

last few days I've been trying to make small progress in hopes that I make a big breakthrough.
I have had many failures but just wondering if anyone else is still pushing to see what new ways we can mod this game.

I'm still here. I still tweak some stuff here and there with CE, but I'm using the exe file from patch 1.04 (backup), which still allows one to change accessory colors and stuff. What are you working on?

I accidentally deleted my backup exe so I have to use the latest version but. I was working on a few things.

Tried creating new archives myself so I could create and use new cf ids, floor ids, and arena ids. Also would allow me to use files without using modded folder like in 2K14.


I feel like I am close but I don't know what compression method is used for the archives themselves.

Also working on mod that allows me to play park with just the cpu and all cpu players would wear street clothes. This mod is already under way. I figured out how to do it.
I even figured out how to get the females to play with thier real body models and female casual clothes. Its a lot of work tho.

Lastly, still trying to figure out how to replace all players with mascots.

TGsoGood, I think you know as well as I do, that if those type of things had been figured out, I would have released the Classic Teams Roster AWHILE ago. I love that you are doing this research. Hopefully we figure it out, and NBA 2K18 uses the same file format.

I would like to spearhead the retro modding for 2K18 and put it back in its rightful place among roster mods. If we could have almost unlimited files (Like 2k14), the sky is the limit. I would go nuts.

I know this is probabaly dumb but I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, I edited team colors and the changes show up just fine in edit roster then I save the roster and exit out then when I go to load the roster to see if the changes were saved they aren't they've changed back to default colors what am I doin wrong?

You can't change colors anymore. The ability to do that was patched out for other reasons.

I tried to use those expansion teams but changing the numbers of players crashed the game, I tried to change the team under a players name and it crashed... I've asked everyone how to change the year numbers and no luck. It'd be nice to add players to a team that isn't limited to the 30. Not sure if anyone figured that out but I did end up with a lot more teams in a roster file to work with.

I went back to before the patch changed the color and I did unlock both versions of the NCAA teams. I took the second copy and turned them into all-time Texas Longhorns (using jerseys in game that are still there for some reason I think u747ut), did the same with a Michigan Wolverines team and UCLA etc did a couple more. My only problem with this is they are two separate teams but the arena is linked and I don't see a way to change that so I just took the NCAA tourny floor and assigned them all to play on that floor. Fans are wrong but it adds some extra fun
Texas over Illinois and Michigan over WF from the story line so I can still play against the all-time Ill and WF teams too

Also would like to know if theres a way to mess with the elite and star teams. It looks like those, the all star teams, and two usa teams are the same type where they have their individual logos behind them in roster creator view

alright well that's a bummer. This thread helped me add like 15 more teams to mess with on a roster so guess that'll do.

Does anyone know any more about what exactly the exe patches to overwrite the color ways and jerseys? I can just type over jerseys on older versions like u747um_current_home and then the team will have that Michigan jersey but they went back to default with newest exe. Also there's some unused international jerseys in the u90-100 range that I am able to make use of doing this same thing so I don't use up any nba jersey file names. I saw michaelvlutz49 did a couple mods with the exe file and animations so I asked him to take a look into it. Hasn't gotten back yet. The few that tried to mod the exe said they couldn't make any changes that didn't end up in crashing

The problem is finding the player. It seems like there are like 3 different versions of the 2016-17 Dirk, for example.
