I wasn't interested in this game at all, felt pretty sour after BF3 and Simcity and thus wasn't expecting to purchase this. However after playing the beta I'm pretty well sold. It's mostly the small things, but man does this game feel great compared to BF3. Some much needed interface tweaks easier communication with teammates, just make a surprising difference in feel.
Really only played a couple games so far but yea, the shooting mechanics just feel solid (don't know why or how), finally feels like a great game that doesn't have to rely on it's size/scope to be good.

i loved the realism in bf3. my only knock on bf3 was that it was almost TOO realistic. the killstreaks in cod are fun to play with once in a while too

The beta had a smaller map probably on par with a typical CoD map, that was just domination, and honestly it player ALOT more like a CoD game. Much faster paced, better spawning, being able to actually predict/ be instantaly aware of whats going on around you (something I had problems with in BF3... too much unorganized chaos at times). I wasn't a fan of close quarters expansion for BF3, but definitely had fun on this smaller map.
And I hear you, the killstreaks are fun when they're working in your favour, but the last time I played CoD (a couple versions ago) they just became too much. I get the "reward even the shitty players" aspect, but there was just too many heli's, carriers, missiles, nuclear teddies etc. in some games.
BF gives you more of a 'sandbox' to play in. Honestly a few games the teams were just fighting for position on the rooftop, almost ignoring the actual domination points. Waiting for players to come up in an elevator only to be flanked by a basejumper. I dono just a lot more freedom, while still maintaining that accomplishing feel that one gets with killstreaks. I remember falling in love with heli's in CoD4MW.

didn't get my $'s worth from BF3, so i'm waiting for the ridiculous markdowns in a few months.

I feel like it would be a waste right now trying to play against randoms. But I wanted bf3, so naturally I want bf4. Between 2k14, the upcoming NBA Live, state of decay and Gta V, unless I do nothing but play games all day I will never get to play them as much as I want. Damn I miss free time.

one of the few problems i had with 3 was that you didn't level up very quickly. it took forever to unlock the stuff you really wanted, but i guess CoD leveled up too fast so maybe a good middle ground would be nice

Yea I ended picking it up. Improved spawning, UI, a new focus on marine warefare, and level design was enough to make this a really. really really fun game.
Honestly i had alot of troubles technically at first, crashing, freezing. But I got a couple good games in last night.
One in particular was honestly one of the best online gaming experiences I can remember in a loooonnggg time (GTA V included).
It was a tropical hotel resort map, with the new obliteration mode, where a bomb spawns and both teams rush for it and destroy the other teams bases. The map consisted many small islands surrounding a large middle island with a large, multi storied hotel. The bomb always spawned somewhere on this middle island.
Majority of the hotel was destroyed but left plenty of nice perches perfect for snipers. And honestly it was just great fun chasing after a bomb, parachuting in and landing behind guys or seeing a 30 story hotel crumble to the ground.
