That'd be a huge shock to enter modern society, to say the least. It reminds me of those tales of soldiers who were separated from their units and continued to "fight" the war they were in, long after peace had been declared.

Yeah, I remember reading that the last Japanese WW2 soldiers came out of hiding in the 1970's, after not believing the surrender was official.

Strange that no one bumped into that father and son for 40 years.

That's really crazy.
