Better screening required for Quiz Shows

Postby Andrew on Mon Oct 13, 2003 9:25 pm

Just caught a couple of minutes of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?". One of the contestants used up two lifelines when asked which was the closest star to Earth. And the friend that she phoned was only "pretty sure" it was the Sun.

Surely, this is something everyone's been told at one time or another. :?

^ is that a recent pic of AI? His hangtime is crazy...

Oh yeah and Andrew you would be surprised at how stupid a lot of people are. On Jenny Jones one time(which is a stupid show in itslf) they asked this woman what was a bakers dozen. She said 6.

They lso asked this other chick what was 8 x 4. I think she said 22.

Oh, I've seen plenty of people on quiz shows who shouldn't be on quiz shows. But that contestant last night is the funniest since the woman who didn't know what sport Shaquille O'Neal played.

Granted, not everyone's a basketball fan, but most people who don't like basketball have at least heard of him.

The show is still broadcasted by some tv channel (maybe still abc) at something like 4:00 on weekdays. Not primetime anymore.
