How I Create gif Animations in GIMP with GAP

Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:55 pm

GAP Plugin - http://registry.gimp.org/node/3700

I render the video to a 200 pixel height to an avi
then in the video menu of that GAP plugin I goto Split Video intro frames at the bottom, then hit the only option in there.
I find the video and load it then hit the video range button.
If you move the slider to the right it will do some popup, say yes. Move the slider all the way to the end and note the frame number underneath.
Keep From Frame to 1, change the To Frame to that end one.
Change Audiotrack to 0
then change the "Create only one multilayer Image" to a checkmark.
Press OK
In the layers tab, turn all the layers to visible.
Filters, Animation, Playback to check it.
Then save as GIF. For a "fast" gif like my first, keep the 33ms speed, my slower second one was 40.

Again hands down on that dribble-crossover-hesitation-step-in-step-out getaway move, Jon.
