Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I'm sure most people have seen the various news reports but for anyone who hasn't, I'll borrow the summary from the
Wikipedia article:
On July 20, 2012, a mass shooting occurred during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. A gunman, dressed in protective clothing, set off smoke or gas canisters and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, killing 12 people and injuring 58. The suspected perpetrator, James Eagan Holmes, was apprehended outside the cinema minutes later. The toll of 70 injured or dead, ranging in age from three months to 51 years, is the most of any shooting in United States history.
The alleged is a disturbed and twisted individual. Truly horrifying and sickening.

It's really creepy seeing the twitter account of one of the victims. It's messed up that you can just be going about your daily life and something horrible and random like this can happen to you.

Yeah, that's pretty heavy.
She was actually an intern at Sports Radio 104.3, where NBA Live Advisory Council member Shawn Drotar works.

Scary indeed. I don't like to watch stories like this on the news anymore. It feels very uncomfortable.

Apparently this happened pretty close to where the Columbine shooting was.
Some people are just seriously fucked up.

I like how the guy who didn't get killed is suing everyone.
I don't think he's going far enough though. He should sue the Chinese government for their ancestors inventing gunpowder.

A very classy gesture on his part.

Some crazy people were petitioning that he'd visit in his Batsuit to prove that heroes 'do exist'. Silly.
Thu Jul 26, 2012 1:16 pm
That probably would've been taking things a bit too far.

Exactly.

Talking to them with the phlegm Batman voice.

Yeah, it doesn't seem appropriate. I think it would have kind of been in poor taste, taking the whole thing a bit too lightly and coming off like a promotional stunt. I think the approach he took was just right.
