Rule Amendments (May 16th, 2012)

Since we've got more and more people using donation links here in the NLSC Forum, we've updated our rules with a few conditions so that we can avoid problems as much as possible.

Donations/"Tip Jar" Links

Users may place donation/"tip jar" links in their signatures, release threads and in the description of uploads. However, directly or indirectly charging users for patches (ie withholding releases until a certain amount is donated) is not allowed. Spamming donation links or pestering/bullying other users into making donations will also not be tolerated.

Use of adf.ly Advertising Links

Links utilising http://adf.ly and other advertising linking services may be posted in the NLSC Forum, however they cannot be added to the Downloads section as external links. The preferred method is to provide users with both a free regular link and a "Support Me" link to the adf.ly URL (see below for an example). Users are responsible for the content advertised in these links and may not use services that advertise pornography or other content that violates the Forum rules. adf.ly is currently the recommended service, but feel free to contact the Forum administrators to clear the use of other services.

Example
Released Download Link
NBA Street 2K12
Support Me Link
http://adf.ly/7HDGa

In short: no forcing people to donate, no direct charging for patches, no porn, no ad links in our Downloads database (however, Donate buttons in the description are fine, so long as they comply with all other rules). Any questions or concerns, please get in touch with us and we'll try to clear it up for you. As always, we reserve the right to make further amendments to our rules as the situation requires.

The introduction to the rules has also been updated to reflect our expanded coverage to the NBA 2K series and basketball video games in general along with NBA Live, just in case that was causing any confusion.
