Calling all OLD SCHOOL posters, the NLSC needs you...

Postby Stevan on Tue Sep 09, 2003 4:07 pm

...well not really that was just me trying to get your attention. So come on, any of those old school guys who still read the forum or have stumbled across it recently but have given up their "keyboard warrior" ways? Speak up my nerdy online community brothers, tell us where you've been and what you've been up to!! :D  (y)

lol, nice, Stevan...

I'm just busy with school....four lit classes take a shitload of time. Plus I'm working at a middle school, and that takes time, what with commuting and what not, and then whatever free time I have left I'm at the rec working out...weekends I'm drunk continously....and then the rest of the time I'm studying...

Yeah, I've made a few posts lately, but that's just cause I was writing a couple papers and wanted a distraction....I'm actually supposed to be at class right now. ;)

Mr. Shane always strikes back, :applaud:

I did less than 100 posts since the start of August, that's why classes have started again here... And I'm kinda busy and all, but I'm still :bday: and  , don't get me wrong, (Y)

well.........

i got offered a job up north that pays $600-800 a week.........and i'm still 17 :) but the downside is i'll work in temperatures of bout 45 C which is boiling hot, but the pay is worth it

so within a few weeks i'll have enough for a ticket to USA and hopefully by this time next year i'll have enough for a trip to Detroit to see Ben Wallace and T Prince play :) this job is only for the summer holidays ( 8 weeks) but after that i'll probly get another job elsewhere

Awesome! I did this last summer, for about 3 and a half months in a factory, we're talking extreme heat, no air con, on top of that working with hot plastic!!! :D It was well worth it though, looking back, probably the best summer I've had. At the time I was fucked but I eventually got my car as a result (y) Quiet an experience. Good luck Matty-G. :)

Well I've known about the NLSC, Andrew, and some other older users for quite some time. I do remember when Tim was in-charge here and I registered in the older forum, but I guess everyone had to re-register (that's why guys like Chucky_Wood8 and Niels don't exist anymore). I've also known about Andrew since his days at The NBA Live Domain and his midweek patch reports. :D So I guess I could be considered a vet, but I never really posted much in the forums until recently.

I'd reckon anyone who was a regular at the old black board is a vet now... these new-school posters... blah. The average poster age has dropped to 12 I'd say.

Hmmmm, excuse me for interfering but i still would like to get a cuple of things of my heart(that's what a forum's for aint it? :) ). First of all, i'm not a newbie who wants to be considered a vet nor desires to be one just cuz i simply aint a vet, and i'm already 19rs old :P (you can almost call me a vet irl  ). I just wanted to share something with you, cuz i still remember the first time i came to this site, i remember the nba live domain too(sort of). I remember really liking the black background with the white letters(what a change compared to word back then :P )and the name i recall seeing/reading the name Tim multiple times(andrew too i believe)but that's very vagualy(six years man, i was a f*ckin' child  ).It started when i went looking on google, at the time i was possesed by nba live cuz i played 97(or was it even '96, cant remember fully, it was the nba live when AI was a rookie and yes im too lazy to look that up now :P ) and 98 then(wow thats like almost six years back  , i was thirteen then :D )and i didnt knew much about the game, especially not about '97 cuz i only wanted to play, but in the end i started to know players, the best scorers, league leaders a cuple of players who had the name"player roster" if i recall right, which i later found out appeared to be michael jordan and charles barkley, not only did i get interested in the nba back then(and started visiting nba.com)i also started to play some intensive bbal trough the summers cuz of the game, and my interession grew with nba '98 and '99, and eventually after search results at yahoo(now i use google) i came to this site, i was really amazed you know, there were things like patches and roster updates(i didnt have to do those things myself anymore and i didnt knew how to do them either)but i only had limited acces to the internet due to a 56k modem and high prices for the internet, but the thing i remembered best was, i think with the lockout season(not sure  )that i downloaded the rookie patch with vince carter and co in it(they werent included in the game i think), i remember being so satisfied and amazed how things could be done and i wanted to learn more, but unfortunately my pc couldnt handle much(my old pentium I 500 or something :P )and i kind of got cut off, a shame actually, also i couldt run nba live 2000 on my pc so i started to lose interest(cuz my parents didnt wanna buy a new one), though i checked the forum multiple times i never registered or started to post cuz i couldnt use anything for my games anymore(i couldnt play the new lives)or search on the internet cuz of the 56k modem(i had to keep updated of the nba trough some magazines) and while the years and the nba lives passed(and finally bought a new pc in 2001 i think and quite shocked when i found out there wasnt going to be a live 2002 for PC and i had to wait another year :x )it was already nba live 2003 before i became active again, in the mean time i also got cable, which meant being online whenever and as much as i wanted, and so the first thing that popped into my mind was this site, so i came back but found out to download u had to register, didnt want to do that at first and i just read the forum, but eventually i couldnt resist anymore and i joined the forum under the name swoosh which u all know me by now. Sorry for this long piece of history but i just wanted to write that down(u dont have to read it u know :P ). So that's my story so i think i cant be called a vet but i cant really be called a newbie either  . Ciao guys (y)

Cool. (Y)

I was intorduced to NLSC through the chat in NBA Live 2001 online matchup...i joined the forum the day after viewing it for the first time. i found it pretty damn cool...and i found the people in the forum even cooler. Like this --> If we were at the old forum still i would consider myself almost a newbie...but with the major change to NLSC in the august of 2002, (man, that was over a year ago???) lots of new ignorant (:)) members joined and i didn't feel like a n00b anymore.

I've been busy with my senior year of college (although Shane once estimated that I was roughly 30 years old...I'm 21)...and getting ready to go to film school.

However...I broke up with my girlfriend of 15 months last week and Live 2004 is just around the corner so expect me back posting a lot soon...
