so I was a huge fan of NFL Blitz, NFL Blitz '99 & NFL Blitz 2000 from Midway but then the NFL license was taken away and they were able to take the game to where they originally intended but couldn't with the restrictions of the NFL license: a "Playmakers" type game with "juicing", drug use, intense violence, and cringe-worthy injuries. Gone were many signature aspects of the arcade game like big-head mode and the 9 play picking screen and in came an in-depth campaign mode with a create-a-player/team and rpg type elements. I became a big fan of "Blitz: The League" and the second incarnation produced the most "sim-like" Blitz game (plays a lot like Backbreaker).
Like EA's remake of NBA Jam, this seems like a very accurate remake of NFL Blitz but it makes me sad that the elements that made Blitz the League so much fun will most likely not ever return. betting on your own games, setting broken bones back into place, targeting where you wish to place your dirty hit, late hits, "juicing" your players to get a better performance or return from injury, the Frank Caliendo John Madden impression, and the story mode.
yes, they are not bringing back late hits from the original NFL Blitz games.
