Seriously, Andrew
Three or four times now I have been met with some kind of computer issue which gets resolved within an hour of me telling Andrew that I'll be offline for a few days or a week.
In today's case, our internet randomly died even though all the pretty lights were acting just fine. Since our phone is an internet phone (all eggs in one basket, way to go...) I drove down to the library to get me some free wifi outside. Tech support said that they reset the modem and that is all they could do. If it didnt work they could send a tech person to the house.....on the 30th....as the earliest possible time. Went back to the house, still broken. Went back to the library to get with tech support again, they then said that the modem wasn't responding and that is all they said. Literally, they closed the chat after that. Went back to the house, sure enough the modem's lights won't come on. So drive to Wally World to get a new modem, came back, plugged it in, aaaaand, nothing. Back down to the library parking lot again, except this time I spent a good hour there getting homework submitted and emailing Andrew that I evidently won't be active until this is fixed could someone take care of Patch of the Week for me. Get the nice email back and then get online with Tech Support again. This time all they wanted to do was get on the phone with me.....idiots don't understand that there are still rural areas in the US without cell service and rely on internet phones since the only phone company in town charges $70 a month for service (shit you not).
So I go back home, and randomly play with the phone, turned it on and sonofabitch the dial tone is there. Quickly get to the computer and the "Hey you have a new modem, please register it with us" screen popped up and 10 minutes later I am back online.
All because of Andrew.
Thank You Andrew for your mystical tech support, I will try to remember to email you ASAP next time.
