I seriously need some freeware that will copy my music from my iPhone to my new laptop. My old computer (which my iPhone orignally synced to) died and I am no longer able to salvage my music! I've got some on CDs, but seriously, I'm going to be pissed if I can't retrieve some of my songs, as there are well over 2000 songs on my iPhone.
Any suggestions? I'd rather have freeware.
PS: Fuck you Steve Jobs.

Winamp?
Windows Explorer with view hidden folders turned on?

The hidden folder thing doesnt work anymore unfortunately.
I haven't used winamp in a loooooooong time, I'll definitely try that tomorrow. Ill be happy and pissed athe same time if that works, as I spent most of this afternoon and evening looking for a solution.

im sure google would help too (now im going to go cry next to my outdated iPod video and nano, dont worry you two, I'll still hidden folder you even though you are old and out of date)

I've been googling shit all the time for this. There's a ton of "free" programs that either don't work or require an activation to transfer more than 100 songs. If winamp works, I'm never using iTunes again after I use up the $20 gift card I have for iTunes.
Once again: Fuck you Steve Jobs.

Once purchased, all apps and music should still be available to sync on your new pc once itunes is installed and your account is properly set up.

I usually buy a CD copy, not crap from the iTunes store. Those won't transfer and loading all those CDs back onto my iPhone is definitely not something I'd be looking forward to.

What about from your iphone to your new cpu? Were your old hard drives destroyed? If not you can just plug them in, find the files and transfer them over.

iDump

I already tried it and it didn't work.

That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get the files from the iPhone to the new PC.

Right. But can't you just install itunes and sync from the phone so it copies to the cpu?
Tue Sep 06, 2011 10:02 am
PDub, iTunes doesn't work like that. Apple (to protect copyright I assume) doesn't allow music to go from iPods/iPhones to iTunes, only the other way around. Only purchases from the iTunes store (apps, music, etc.) transfer, and the majority of my music is not from iTunes.
Until a couple of years ago, you could unhide some folders in the iPod's disk drive and transfer that way, but it doesn't work that way for newer Apple products.
Luckily, though, I've got a solution! My friend has the paid version of CopyTrans (similar to iDump), so he's going to let me use it for my iPhone. So hopefully that works.

Your right. I did some digging figuring you could sync from your iphone to your new cpu, but that only works with itunes purchases. This is why I never and will never buy apple products.
Here is another person with the exact same problem.

They found nearly the exact same solutions, although the majority of those need a paid version of the program to work. Like I said, my friend has the full version of CopyTrans and I'm going to use it today. I hope it works!

I used the following tool... Xilisoft iPhone Transfer. It is a paid one, but work well and I managed to sync all my idevices with my pc.

I used my friend's CopyTrans- worked perfectly.
Tue Nov 29, 2011 4:33 pm
...and then of course last month my computer crashed, so my NEW new computer has no music on it. My friend's CopyTrans apparently quit working a while back, so he deleted it (idiot.) and I'm left with no music on this computer. I'm going to give winamp a go tomorrow.
Yet again, fuck you Steve Jobs, for making iTunes an annoying piece of shit.
