cool plays you've done while playing ball . . .

what's yours?

a couple of months ago when my school had an open scrim, i managed to pick someones pocket and head down court.. my man stayed with me throughout the whole time.. i couldnt slow down as i approached the basket so i went up for a hard layup only to have him jump at the same time.. acting on instinct and i turned my body a full 180 degrees and laid it off the glass, plus the foul. that's probably one of the best things i ever did although i'm going to admit it was a fluke -- i don't usually try shots like that

i also managed to pin the ball against the backboard.. that was pretty sweet too.. this guy on the other team was isolated against one of my team mates.. the guy managed to cross my teammate up and he tried going in for a left handed layup only to have me pin it.


this one might not sound much but i was posting up this guy (he's a nasty defender- quick as hell and tall)and backing him down the basket.. i would say i was about 8 feet away so i turned and hit a fadeaway J only to have him hack me across the arm .. lucky for me tho my shot swished and i made him look like an idiot

all the cool things i did happened on the playgrounds

i was in the corner, isolated, crossed ma man up and went 4 the layup but a big man appeared under the basket (im only 5'7'') and put his hands up 2 block my layup so while jumpin towards the basket i couldnt release ma layup so i kept on flyin under his arms, under the basket and made the reverse layup after passin him

i was eneterin the half of the other team, everybody expected me 2 set up a play so i started runnin towards the basket and jumped after passin the 3pt line by one step, in the air i passed like 2 defenders and made the layup

playin 1on1 i wanted 2 make a layup but the other guy jumped up 2 block that shot so i was like spinnin around 360° in the air and makin the layup, that was like more luck than skills but it was definetly cool

I was playing away this time. Our center (6´7) has the steal and goes to the other end to make a dunk attempd, sicne he has a
-10 inch vertical he missed it. So i jumped high for the rebound and cought the ball above the rim. And then I flushed the putback stuff, the crowd jelous (spelling) as hel lol.

The other time I had a offensice rebound after a missed lay-up from a teammate, so I want to go up. Then my defender pulls my arm and I fall backwards (kinda like Huwon Howard did on Derek Anderson in the 2000/2001 playoffs I think), so I was falling back, and kinda made a windmill type of shot before I hit the ground....No foul was called

we were playing an exhibition game at school, it was the best in the school against the best of the teachers,, in the last 10 secs of the game, the teachers led by 2 points so we had the ball and I attempted a 3 pointer at the buzzer and the ball touched all the rim before going in (it took like about 5 sec before the ball went in lol) and we won by 1 point!!

The teachers were so mad!!! No wonder why i get bad marks in school

At my high school school we had a tournament, It was the Seniors vs the Freshman, then Juniors vs Sophmores.

My Seniors team won and we played the Juniors.

My boy Shareef(would would be a McDonalds all american if he played on the team) has 11 blocks 30pt.s and about 17 rebounds, Along with about 8 assist

AT the end of the game it was crazy. We were up by about 20 and the Juniors came back. It was 69-65 and 70 was game point. Reef blocked someone's shot and I got the ball. I ran down the court and dribble between and opponents legs. Around the 3 pt. line Another defender stepped up and I tried to clown him by bouncing the ball behind his back. I bounced it but I botched the move and I lost where the ball was. The ball actually came back over the guys head and it came down and hit me in the head, me and the defender both went up to get the back. Now I am 5'3 so I just jump up and punched it instead to grabbin it because my defender would got it. I punched it towards the basket and it went up about 30 feet. It was about 7 people under the court including people from booth teams of course. as the ball was comming down Shareef went up grabbed it with his back to the basket over 7 people, he turned about 90 degrees and jammed it with 2 hands. Most amazing/weird thing i've ever seen.

The reason Reef isn't a All American let alone on the ball sqaud, is because he has chronic shoulder problems. Right before half-time of that game he dislocated his shoulder, and as I said before he still finished with 30, 17, 11 and 8.

the first game of last years town league this happened.

With 36 seconds left in the game I was on the line. The score was 20-18(lol). My first foul shot hit the front of the rim and missed. My second was a swish. We were down 20-19. As they passed in the ball, one of my teammates(paul) got a steal but than lost control and the ball was rolling on the groun but than he picked it up and passed to me. There was about 25 seconds left. Before I could do anything all teh defence was back. I look around for something to cut. Than one of my teammates(grayson) cut in the key. I tryed to lob it over to him and it kinda bounced off my defenders head but it still went to grayson and he got an easy lay-up(21-20) that with 10 seconds left my man was pushing it up the court. I was right with him and than when he shot at the buzzer i contested it and I got a piece of it and it hit the far left side of the backboard. we won our first game... than we lost like 8 straight games... lol....

In a high school tornament game, we were down by 2, so coach puts me in to get a good shot off. 20seconds left on the clock, opponent looking to run the clock down, so we triple him, manage to get him to fumble the ball.. so its 10secs now, I get the ball back at the top of the arc, I don't bother with any crossover, so I just go sharply right so that i'm at a 45degree angle to the rim. I do a lil mini low crossover to get my defender to reach down and as he bends over, go take the 3.. buzzer goes as the ball is in mid flight..
hits the front of the rim...bounces and hits the backboard....bounces on the rim again... stops on the rim... and drops in.. we win

Another favourite play our team used to do, was whenever we had a 15+ lead, we would start taking half court shots... might not sound like anything different, but its kinda funny seeing guys taking half court shots with 10mins left in the game

I have two plays that stick out of mind instantly when I start thinking about bball plays...

The two happened in the same game... and I dunno what makes me kinda "memorize" them very well... I really dunno, maybe it's that I played in a different place from which I used to play at the time...

They happened in 1996, I think... Nearly 7 years ago! lol

Well I was playin' a two-on-two games with a friend and two more guys I didn't know...

We were playin' the same, it was a really entertaining, good game, even some people were watching, and at some point came the 1st play... My partner-in-crime got the rebound, passed the ball to me and went to the post... One guy came to defend me, and I kinda played the tempo, slowin' the ball play... Then I saw my teammate standing right in front of me, but he was covered by the two guys of the other team... I just pushed the ball right in front of the two guys... Then I jumped, fake the shot, and passed the ball to my teammate, across the two guys' arms... They jumped along with me too, so by the time they were on the ground again, the ball was already on my teammate's hands and he was already doin' the lay-in... It just felt great, and it came out of nowhere...

The 2nd play... As the game went on, the score was 19-16 to them... I scored, and it was 19-18... The game ends with whoever scores 21 first... So, after I scored the bucket, I got the free throw... I shot it, missed, but the ball came directly back into my hands... I bounced it, jumped back to the 3 pt line without ever lookin' to nothin' but the net, and dropped the 3pt shot! NET! lol, it happened so quickly! I just felt very good after that moment...

man this reminds me of the old forum A true dick measuring contest.

I once layed the ball up from waaayyyy out... I was playing with Bugz Bunny and a few other fellas. We took on the Monstars, and I won the game at the buzzer by stretching my arm like a rubber band, and droping the ball in!! It was a great moment for me!

lol, I remember that thread Stevan, some guy said he has a long-ass dick and nobody believed him... then he came in and said he was gonna retire from postin' because he didn't care... WTF... lol

hmmmmmm lets see, i think best play ive ever done was probably a coast to coast against all the other teams 5 players and a MJ type switch of hands layup

can't really remember any else, but ive made buzzer beaters and some really nice J's

3-point hookshot!!! it was mad funny!

When i was playing in our little league championship it was the second ot. I got the ball under the basket and just flipped it up backwards and made plus the foul. I missed the ft thought.

We eventually won.

I once almost hit a buzzer beating half court shot, It hit the backboard than hit front rim than missed.

this one kid was on a fast break and was about to do a lay-up but i caught up with him and blocked the shot so hard that the kid fell down and the ball hit him in the head. i was surpissed they didn't call a foul even though it was clean it didn't look clean.

i hit a stupid 3 point in practice when I was younger, from the other side of the court, I was about 12 and didn't have the strengh to throw the ball through the whole court. I tryed nevertheless, the ball bounced one time on the free-throw line of the other side, then went in.

I still wonder if it counts like a 2 or 3 points

My best single play is probably from a streetball game. I was going down the court on a fastbreak and it was a two-on-one my other player was on one side of the key, and I was on the other one. I was sprinting and the defender jumped out at me so I faked a pass to my other player with the thing where you push the ball out and then flick it back when your arms straight, but I flicked it behind his back and got a lay-up.

I had this one time in a school game wheer I had a couple good plays in a row. We were down by 6 in the 4th with about 6 minutes left, so plenty of time. I got a dish from the post and nailed a three. Then I got it on the wing took a dribble to the middle and then crossed up my defender and hit a 12-footer. Then I was on D and I tapped a passs down court and picked it up and dribbled and scored a lay-up and was fouled! Then I made the two FT's and the resident ball-hog didn't give me the ball for the rest of the game. Confusing?

Once I also blocked a 3-point attempt by a guy whose about 5'3'', and I was only 5'4''.

this one game of grade 7s vs grade 7s the score was like 36-34 or something for us in like the last minute. And my team kept inbounding to me cause I was the best free throw shooter on my team and the other team fouled my 4 times in the last minute! I made all 8 of my free throws but 2 of them didn't count cause I would make the first one than I would make the second but someone of my team was gay and kept running into the key before a shot it and they didn't count 2 of them cause he did that So ya we still won but still he was stupid....

Not really a play you practice, more of a fluke;

Playing against another school, teammate rebounds the ball...sux at passing, I start running downcourt...and the frucker passed the thing as if I cud do that MJ thing in Space Jam, the ball went flying ahead of me...tried to keep pace..when I got to it, I was already fallin out of bounds...so I tried to save the ball in since my teammates were sortof behind me....but to my surprise...I flipped it over my head, the ball went over the backboard thing...and plonced into the net...I didnt realize till I turned around and saw the Score Cards....but it was cool....
