This is what college should be

But sadly especially for you youngin's dont count on it.

Tl;dr for those of you who are reading impaired: A human sexuality professor offered an after-class non-mandatory session to show some demonstrations of some of the toys/things people enjoy using a real couple who volunteered to demonstrate. People are crying out against it.

I say more power to him:
1. He didnt force anyone to be there.
2. If we can have classes about movies and music in pop culture, why not sex/porn?

The world needs more profs like this.

Reminds me of that classic scene in Monty Python's Meaning of Life.

I'd say it was an error in judgement since obviously not everyone is going to look at it in the clinical/academic manner in which it was intended, but that's no reason to demonise him. It's not like he's someone hosting live sex shows for the sake of it or inviting students around to his home for "private demonstrations".

Exactly. if he was hosting orgies or something out of his class i'd understand. That would be more than a slight breach of ethics. But this? Sure maybe only 1 of the 100 people who showed up were there to observe in an "academic" sense rather than for a live sex show but shouldnt it be allowed specifically because of that 1 person?

I suppose it depends on the law as well as the code of conduct set forth by the school. It is admittedly a step up from showing classic films or even nude models in an art class.

I think that's been blown so far out of proportion. He made a mistake, period. The kids that go to BYU know what they're getting into, it's their religious ways and 9 times out of 10 they're totally down to not bang, get drunk/high and drink coffee. He just messed up and made an error in judgement.

That class though, I don't know that it's bad, but the fact that he had it on campus probably didn't help his cause. I definitely don't think a school like Northwestern would want Sex Toy 101 linked to them, non mandatory or not. It is kinda funny though, I can only imagine the awkwardness of walking into the wrong lecture hall one day and seeing a girl going to town on herself in the front of the room.
