Words I Never Said is far better than The Show Goes On. Been looking forward to this for a while, though I thought his first two albums were just pretty good.

I can't wait for this, Lupe is one of the few hip-hop artists I listen to anymore... Never forget you with John Legend leaked.

i prefer show goes on. the hook is very catchy

the show goes on has nice instrumentals... its like the type of music espn would use for their sport programs when they go to a break lol, or trailer.

Unfortunately, to me it hasn't lived up the the hype and waiting time.
There are definitely some good tracks on it, his lyrics are always great, but the beats are getting more mainstreamish.
Favorite tracks so far are "Beautiful Lasers", "Letting Go", "Coming Up" and "Till I Get There"

along with "Words I Never Said".

FIRST IMPRESSION:

The singles we got were the only decent tracks. This album is a colossal flop, and indeed, a fiasco. It seems like the studio make some (shitty songs) and had him rap over them. It works for The Show Goes On much like it did for say, Superstar, but aside of that and the excellent Words I Never Said, this album is pretty cringe-worthy.

not the biggest fan of i don't wanna go right now & i'm beamin but i do like the show goes on a lot. all black everything, beautiful lasers, shining down, & never forget you are great.

Gave it another listen. It's really bad. The production is among the worst I've heard (he might have been better off having fucking Danger Mouse produce it!) and the only song I can really defend is Words I Never Said. The rapping is decent, but not as "cutting edge" as it was in the first two albums, and overall, the album is just a major flop.

or maybe people expect him to do the same type of stuff he used to. if that's the case, then yeah it's a flop. but i think it's good for artists to continue changing and adapting or else they turn into Rick Ross.

That's what I thought. In most of the songs, he is drowned out by the studio disasters that pretty much every track is.

Listened to the album for a couple of days already. Loved the first half of it, didn't like the second half at all.
