My Shot Range

Postby TRUball on Mon Aug 04, 2003 2:37 pm

I recently added a 3 point line to my drive way thing with street chalk and i found out that what i had the 3-point line from straight away was like 2 and a half feet behind what it actually was and what i was shooting 3s from were just about 8 inches in front of the nba 3 point line, and what i thought was the NBA three(23'9") was about 26 feet away from the net, and what i thought was about 25 feet away was like 28 feet away, and i was hitting them from where i thought 25 feet away was so that means that i can hit from 28 feet that is crazy considering i am 13 and only 5'2"(5'3" with shoes) so that means i can hit the nba 3 with even more ease. I feel great now :D and now that the high school 3(19'9") is where it is supposed to be i can make those soooooo easily, it feels just like a normal shot. When i was playing by myself and just like imagining i was in a game kinda thing, i was hitting my 3's so well, i was 12-15(80%) from 3 which is like the best i have done if i shoot 15 3s and see how much of them i make, it was great :D . lol. the most i have done in an actual game was like 5/6 or something, my best was 3/3, my worst was 0/5. i don't usually shoot lots of 3's in games even though i can make them.

post here what your range is, and other info on your 3-point shot.

I'm a pretty good shooter and make most open shots. I can shoot NBA three's without jumping free-throw style. I can shoot a normal shot out to about 35 (not that I would.)

I have a pretty consistant 15-18 footer...when I'm hot, then again when I'm hot I can pull up from 25 ft. with no problem. On the regular though my J stinks and i'm good just driving or clowning someone and makin a lay-up.

that's a good start for someone your age. what you might want to do is find a very tall piece of equipment, or even some boards or something and make an obstacle that simulates a defender, for you to shoot over. then when you get in games, you should have no problem shooting with hands in your face.
