Why wont my graphics card run this game? NEW problem!!

here is my video card specs




The pic above says my card has Shader version 2 on it but the game below says I dont have version 1.1




any help? other than buying a new card?

The pic on top is requirements for another game. I just wanted to show that I have Shader 2.0

You have pixel shader 2.0, you don't have vertex shader 1.1. So you don't have the entire shader model, just half of it.

And I have no idea how your card doesn't have Hardware T&L.

A shader model contains both (and/or more) whereas your graphic card can handle the pixel shader part of Shader Model 2.0, it has no support for vertex shaders, thus it doesn't report as compatible with ANY Shader Model. The game wants it to work with Shader Model 1.1 (which is 1.1 of both pixel and vertex) which your card can't even though it has a superior pixel shader because it has no vertex shader.

alright so I am playing Splinter Cell 1 and for the first two missions the game ran perfectly. But now on the third mission the game is showing these weird color patches all of a sudden. These arent permanently on the screen. when I move around a bit they go away but then pop back onto the screen and lags the whole game until I shake the mouse around to make it go away again.
It only shows up on the left side of the screen touching the characters left half of the body only and not any further.

Is this due to my crappy video card again or is it some other bug?

LOLOLOL turns out that problem was for only one mission. Must had been certain lighting features on that map. Next mission got no more problems..
