Longest-running NBA Live league on the web

Hey guys,
I have a question for you.
Are you an NBA nerd? Does most of your time on the internet focus on NBA? Do you want to spend time in a community of NBA fans? Do you often think you could do a better job managing an NBA team than most of the GM’s in the NBA? So do i.
Enter NLL (http://www.nbaliveleague.com).

The NLL, established in 2002, is one of the most detailed, realistic and historic NBA Live sim league sites on the web. Its community features NBA lovers from all over the world and of all ages, some of which have been around since 2002, some of which joined only this year. As the NBA offseason concludes and the start of the 2009/10 season draws near, as does the NLL’s. Currently, there are 4 teams open, and we are looking to fill them up before the season starts.

How it works: NLL attempts to replicate the NBA GM experience, and strives for realism. It follows the NBA’s schedule, player contracts and player injuries. Each team plays one season per year (and has offseason tasks such as the draft, resigning and free agency). The games are simmed by using NBA Live 2006 (using updated gameplay patch - the results are surprisingly realistic. Better than Live08's sim stats), CPU vs CPU in exhibition mode. The results are saved and then submitted. Each week/round of the active season an updated roster patch is released (to take into account recent transactions, lineup changes and/or injuries), and new games are simmed and submitted daily. The web-site is dynamic and submitted games are processed automatically. Scores, standings and team/player stats are updated immediately.

Teams available:
- Atlanta Hawks, a team in reasonably good financial shape, that has been a cellar dwellar for most of NLL's existence. But now, they are armed with the dynamic duo that they drafted - Greg Oden & Derrick Rose. Can you be the first to bring them into playoff contention?

- New Jersey Nets, have been among the best teams in the league over the past few seasons. They're in pretty horrific financial shape, but they have a great lineup with players such as Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Jason Kidd & Emeka Okafor on the list. Can you fix their alarming financial situation and maintain the Nets as an Eastern Conference powerhouse? Tough task.

- Orlando Magic, have always been a mid-range borderline-playoff kind of team. Not great, not horrible. Right now, they're without a real team leader and they've got some ugly contracts. They're actually a bit of a mess. Richard Jefferson and Peja Stojakovic are both overpaid, but still pretty effective in Live06. Will you trade them and rebuild? Or will you try and accumulate more assets around them and have a go at playoffs? On the bright side, JR Smith and Jerryd Bayless look like they could have improved NBA seasons in 2009/10, which will reflect well on their ratings in NLL. Can you turn this mediocre team into something special?

- Phoenix Suns, the suns are one of the saddest stories in NLL. Because once, they were an absolute powerhouse. With player such as Arenas, Garnett, Dwight Howard, and others, they were one of the best teams in the league (If not THE best). Then the GM had to step down, and a new GM came in and messed everything up. He spent a season in charge, and during that time traded all his great players away in shitty deals. Now, the suns aren't even a playoff team. Sad. HOWEVER, they DO have some good assets (Louis Williams, Brandon Jennings, Al Horford) and are in great financial shape which means they will be a player in Free Agency (which starts in 2 weeks), so they are in a great position to be rebuilt and start fresh. Can you rebuild the suns back to its former glory?

I've personally been with the league since 2003 now, and it's rad. When i started, i was given the Denver Nuggets and they were SHIT! The best player was Juwan Howard, and an aging Steve Smith was his sidekick, with a young and ineffective Joe Johnson as the diamond in the rough. As years passed, i made some smart moves and now i have one of the best teams in the league (lead by Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard - ooooaaaahhh what a duo!). Last season was my best season. I finished with the best record in the league I made it to the finals, but lost. For the 2009/10 season i hope to win it all. This year i became co-admin, and i'm in charge of hiring new GM's. Coming into the 2009/10 season, there are 4 teams available, so if you've got time to dedicate to managing a team, then this is the place for you!

Our goal is to fill the league up with dedicated GM's.
