Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

http://www.spike.com/blog/spike-tv-brin ... ent_172212Balls out! Rugby League is coming to America and Spike TV is going to be its new home. The network today announced that it would be bringing Australia's National Rugby League 2009 playoffs to the States.
The action starts Friday, September 11 at 11pm, so now's your chance to figure out the meaning of terms like dummy kick, ruck and scrum, and finally impress that hot(ish) Amazon chick that plays on the Rugby club who may or may not be in to three-ways.
The NRL is Australia's premier rugby league and routinely attracts 80,000 fans to its Grand Final (their Super Bowl), which will be broadcast on Spike October 4 at 11am ET/PT. This may be their version of football, but there are no pansy pads or stop and go bulls***. This is hurry-up the whole way through, so move over T.O. There's no crying in Rugby!
C'mon, mate, Get More Action.
The broadcast schedule is as follows:
Friday, September 11 (11:00pm ET/PT)
Friday, September 18 (11:00pm ET/PT)
Friday, September 25 (11:00pm ET/PT)
Grand Final (note - will air in the morning in the U.S.):
Sunday, October 4 (11:00am ET/PT)

Admittedly not the most professional write-up I've ever read

but great news all the same. It seems most Americans only really know about rugby union, this game is faster, more exciting and less likely to make you want to stab your eyeballs repeatedly until it ends. Anyone here going to watch or will you be too busy putting on your fifty kilos of padding?

I used to consider American Football the gayest sport due to their pants. But that was until I saw rugby. They have the tightest clothing in all of sports. So kudos to them for putting up with that?

Tight clothes = gay? I think someone has body issues did I do it right?

I know the players themselves can't pick their uniforms. So that's why I don't hold it against them. But you can't deny that the clothing the rugby players have is thighter than my girls assholes. And I am not saying that men having on thight clothing is gay. I am saying the people that decided they put on those clothes did it for the gay community. Which is fine. I love gay people. As long as they don't try to fuck me. lol. You see, I am a really good dancer. Which for some reason is like an open invite for people to try to touch me. It's the reason why I stopped clubbing. So yeah, I have issues. With people who can't control themselves.

The uniforms are tight so that defenders can't grab onto their jerseys and tackle them like they used to.

Hopefully the game the Americans first saw was the Broncos-Titans game last night. Good game.

What the hell, Jae is posting. Weird. Anyway...

You try to fuck them?

Now that you mention it, you don't see too many serious news articles that begin with "Balls out!"
I reckon it'll go over pretty well in the US. Some of the guys I've met at the community days were intrigued by Aussie Rules when it was on TV in an Irish pub we went to one night but they certainly like their gridiron, so I think they'd also go for an Australian sport that's a bit closer to their brand of football.

I think the last one was Fox News's 9/11 remembrance column.

The write-up may not be professional but with a statement like that, it's convincing none the less.

Indeed, Spike are certainly taking their "Get More Action" slogan to heart.
