Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

We've all got them, what songs do you guys like that really don't fit in the general scheme of your music tastes?
I'm into alot of heavier stuff but I really love Fade Into You by Mazzy Star, it's pretty much the exact opposite of almost all of my other music. Also anything from Matchbox 20's first CD and a few Hootie & The Blowfish songs.

Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen, the entire album. I dont like their other albums and there is nothing like those songs in the rest of my library.

Not well into those mushy love songs but I fond some David Gates and Bread stuff...

AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Stratovarius. I'm not at all into metal/hard rock at all but I do like those bands a lot, for some reason. Most of my friends are surprised when they see those bands next to stuff like Simon & Garfunkel, Ben Harper, Blind Melon or pretty much any other band I listen to. Then again, most of them listen to crappy techno so I always have a comeback ready.

I mostly listen to brutal stuff but I do enjoy Ben Harper quite a lot. "Burn One Down" is probably the coolest weed-related song out there.

As much as I don't like guitars, from this day has always been a cool song to me. I think the bands name is something with machine and head, but don't quote me on that.

Machine Head maybe?

I was trying to be funny. Guess I failed.

Incubus' newer stuff... I'm a 12 year old girl I know.

My bad

You were helping me. So that's cool.

I have songs by artists like Lykee Li and Amy Winehouse. They don't really go well with the rest of my music.

I absolutely loooove Coldplay. Seriously.
Mon Jul 20, 2009 10:36 pm
I'm quite into Indie Pop and Folk Music, but also quite like Gnarls Barkley.
Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:18 am
I also really like Gnarls Barkley and other neo-soul bands like JJ Grey & MOFRO. Another band that I really like and doesn't fit with the rest of my music is Eric Lindell.

Some songs by Gnarls Barkley, David Guetta and Manafest Feat. Justin Humes - Don't Turn Away (I listen his songs, but this one is rock or something like that). Since I listen only rap, hip-hop and a bit of R&B, these songs really don't fit.
Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:39 am
I'm more of the Hip-Hop/R&B junkie, so I guess Green Day is the odd one out on my mp3. Plus I don't mind listening to some old Beatles records every now and then. I also really like the song "I Don't Want To Be" by Gavin DeGraw.
Wed Jul 22, 2009 12:45 pm
I'm more into indie music, and yet I'm into bands such as Deerhunter, Grizzly Bear and Pavement. Its just odd that I like the song "Visiting Friends" by Animal Collective, despite my distaste for top 40 hits.
Wed Jul 22, 2009 12:55 pm
I usually listen to Hip-Hop and R&B, but I love The Eagles. Pretty old and odd actually.

Hotel California is as epic as Bohemian Rhapsody me thinks

Add Stairway to Heaven in that category.

I never get where people come from with the whole "Since it's popular, I can't like it" sort of thing. It just never made sense to group everything that's popular as bad, as a core philosophy?

That post was double irony. The bands and songs I listed are very indie, and irony is a staple of indie culture.

im into drowning pool, A7X, korn etc.. but i listen to micheal buble
Fri Jul 31, 2009 10:23 pm
Micheal buble actually sings. While not relaying on a computer to make him sound good.
And he doesn't beat his wife like Old Blue Eyes did.
