Originally scheduled for release in 2007, Ubisoft introduced us to a new bad-ass look for Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Trailer:
Changed their plans for a hand-to-hand combat type of play and somehow re-made the game from scratch and re-scheduled the release this fall:
New Conviction trailer:
I'm still in favor for the original concept for Conviction.

Ubi needs to redeem themselves for SC: Double Agent. It probably wasn't as much of a disaster on consoles, but on PC (what got the SC franchise famous in the 1st place), it was a shitty bugfest.
Actually, I remember Conviction was not even announced to be released on PC at first, I don't know if that changed or not.

I've seen some promo art from the original conviction game. Where Sam is "walking away" looking bum and all that and carrying a bag. The word "CON
VICTION" is above the image with a small Tom Clancy logo on the bottom right corner.
Can't find it anymore, this is what I found:

At least Sam Fisher still looks badass, unlike Fat Payne.

I'm still wondering how will Fat Payne do bullet time.

Max Payne 3 looks like Carlos Boozer body type.(with little more fat %)

With that much fat, he'll probably be moving in perpetual bullet time.

Double Agent was definitely a bugfest on PC but I still loved it to death. Don't think I've ever played a Ubisoft PC game that lacked a gamebreaking bug so I'll probably just give up and get it on 360.

What I managed to play was pretty good too, I liked how they added a twist (choosing the task and side missions you want to complete in some levels, for a less linear experience) to the classic SC gameplay, but in the end, I rarely played a PC game that was plagued so much with bugs. It deleted my saved game files twice before the Kinshasa level, so I eventually gave up on that mess.

Double Agent was not that bad and I got on ps3. I was playing yesterday and I was doing the ship mission full of mexican coast guard. I bashed one of the doors and it alerted two guards. One guard came up to door and went inside. The door closed and I was about to hit the guard but the other guard bashed the door and it knocked out the guard inside. It was really funny.

Haven't played Chaos Theory and Double Agent. But, what I noticed in the first Splinter Cell and in Pandora Tomorrow, once you're in the dark, you're completely invisible -- even with your tri-scope lit on and 100% visible in the dark.
Does that apply too in Chaos Theory or in Double Agent?

Pretty much yes, I remember being 3 feet away from guards who would not detect me because I was in the dark, even though I had my 3 bright green lights on...

The guards don't detect even though your tri-scope is lit on. I remember I was beside one of the guards searching for me but he did not see me. Probably they'll gonna make it more realistic in the next game and make you turn the tri-scope off in order not to be detected.

That's one thing that made me dislike Splinter Cell. And everything seems to be linear, with the solutions to your puzzle and missions just around the corners.

That's actually one of the things that got improved with
Double Agent, more ways to accomplish some missions, and a few few semi-moral choices to make, resulting in less linear gameplay. It looks like it'll be even more implemented in
Conviction, which is good news. Now, if Ubi could only get the execution right for once...

Hopefully. Seen and played a little of Double Agent, and felt that the JBA and Agency options leave an open-endedness of the game.
