Help Jackal.

Postby Jackal on Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:44 am

Okay guys, I'm going to be going off to vacation in October and if there's one thing I always mess up on is entertaining myself in the plane/during stops..

So here's the question, besides listening to music, how do you guys amuse yourself on the plane? (Jerking off, hitting on the guy/girl next to you, making fun of the fat guy that takes up two seats and posing as a terrorist are not part of the initial plan.)

How bout a PSP or Nintendo DS? How's the battery life on those things? A laptop would be a good idea too, just a 15'4 inch laptop is not exactly what I wanna have on me at all times. :(

If you're in the window side, looking outside.

If you have a camera with you, you can picture cloud formations.

I usually read every detail of the instuction manual on those emergency thingies. Never know when something is going to go apeshite.
If I finish, I ask for a newspaper.
Then I sleep.

You can only look outside for so long, I mean at the beginning of the flight that's nice, but after 10 minutes of clouds, clouds & some more clouds...it gets kind of...repetitive.

Out of boredom I end up reading those damn things too, in every language I can read (usually Dutch, Spanish & English). The in-flight movies usually suck ass, so that's a complete no-no.

Sleeping doesnt work for me, which is something I despise. My friends all manage to sleep, but it doesn't work for me. Hence the need to entertain myself.

PSP or Nintendo sounds actually good, not sure tho' how long the battery will last. But you might consider doing something out of this list as well: http://panicbuttonblog.com/things-to-do ... -airplane/

1. Fart loudly and act shocked, looking around to see who did it
10. Disco dance in the aisle
14. Describe your sex life in great detail to the five-year-old next to you
19. Lead a bible study session in the back of the plane (vinceair could help you with it)
21. Steal businessman’s laptop, play solitaire on it
27. With the person next to you, discuss cannabilism among airline crash passengers on deserted islands
31. Show off your Batman underwear
37. Put on a ten foot diameter sombrero and slouch in your seat, whacking everyone on the head
55. Jump up and scream “AAAHHH!! I left the stove on!!”
58. Start talking Korean

I was lucky enough to have a PSP and a DS going from Miami to San Fransisco and back.

Both last a while if you use the dimmest backlight option

If you get a DS, get peggle
Opinions are my own.

I've been seriously looking at the PSP, I heard Live is coming out on it, has GTA too. Nintendo on the other hand has some kickass games like Mario World & Mario Kart...what a dilemma.

Live in the PSP, LOL. You're better off playing Tetris. I go with the DS option.

Try to scare the kids in the plane without their parents knowing. This could backfire as the incessant crying might annoy you too, if not, good for pissing of the parents and other people.

If you haven't played GOW in the PSP you'll enjoy the game, but after you finish it - meh. You might be bored again on the flight back.

I'm leaning towards the PSP I thinks...

Has GoW, GTA and some pretty good shooters/racers. Plus it's so pretty.

I'm heading to India for 3 weeks.

Wow, India... I only watched India in TV and movies and seems like a cool place. One of my cop friend is from there and I'm used to indian food as well so I'm really tempted to visit there someday. Maybe take some photos and share with us here. That'd be cool.

Sounds pretty good to me, the last time I went was in 2001, so it'll take some getting used to for me.

My mom on the other hand, goes every year.

I know people will get beaten up...by me. The fuckers over there are pervs, in 2001 me & my cousin kicked the shit out of a dude who groped my sister.

Bring cards and play with somebody on the plane. Get a book of comicstrips and read it. Download as many videos as you can into your ipod and watch them. Get up and walk around every hour or so.

For the movies, I recommend Fearless, Final Destination (the 1st one), and a classic - Alive.

If possible Jackal, try bringing some snakes to the plane so you could say "I have had with these motherfuckin' snakes on this motherfucking plane".

I'm with Jao, I got peggle on my Iphone and that game kills hours without you noticing.

I'd suggest an Ipod touch for music/movies/games. The amount of games you can download in the app store are all games that take time and are just overwhelmingly fun.

I would've suggested sleep as one thing to pass the time but I guess that's out. Aside from that, depending on the length of the flight I'll go with a combination of music/podcasts, crosswords, a book and if I'm going overseas whatever's available on the plane as far as in-flight movies and TV shows are concerned. Next time around I'll probably put some videos on my iPod as well.

See that'll happen for sure, but this is for the moments when the people around me are snoring away to glory and I'm left to kill the time.

For the movies, I recommend Fearless, Final Destination (the 1st one), and a classic - Alive.

I think I'll stick to some movies I haven't seen in quite some time like the Blurays of Goodfellas, The Godfather Trilogy and Casino.

-Get some paper and draw. I always do that
-Sudoku :|
-Talk with the pilots

- I would if I could, somehow all my drawings miraculously turn out to be a penis.
- Yuck.
- I would rather not disturb them from flying and causing us to crash.

Dude, I'm an Indian with a beard. What are the chances I get on the plane myself without being checked a billion times. Snakes are out of the motherfuckin' question.

I'd suggest an Ipod touch for music/movies/games.

If I liked overpriced pieces of junk, I'd consider that.

Get a DS. You can get download games for it...

If you have free food/drink on the plane, get really drunk so everything else seems more fun.
