That's old , but they release Max Payne 3 in this winter.
Screens and story
http://www.gossipgamers.com/max-payne-3-details-high-res-scans/Max Payne 1 and 2 was classic. I hope for the best.
You guys have played both games so far?

The article is in French but it mentions that the release date is now set to October 30th.
The first 2 games were certainly classics, hopefully this one will live up to that standard.

I did. That game set the pace for shooting games during those years.
*daydreams*
EDIT: Seen the link.
What the hell are they thinking getting Max bald and all that Spartan-look? He doesn't even resemble the Max Payne from 1 and 2.
Thu Jun 25, 2009 12:35 pm
He looks like Jeff Bridges from Iron Man.
Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:50 pm
I love Max Payne. Though, I'm not sure if I finished 2 though. I'm not too sure about the new look. Reminds me of butcher for some reason.
Thu Jun 25, 2009 3:48 pm
Indeed, the change in look is drastic at best.
Sam Fisher's look in Splinter Cell V is acceptable, you can still see the resemblance. This Max Payne seems to be random.
And it seems that this new look of his is final:
Screenshot.
What I'm hoping for is that, this character
isn't Max Payne.

Maybe it's his father.

you guys haven't really stayed current with this have you?
According to early, still rumored details from the mag, Max Payne 3 will move the series to Sao Paulo, Brazil, featuring a paunchier, balder, more heavily bearded Payne. The game is said to take place more than a decade after Max Payne 2, but the middle-aged pot-bellied Payne hasn't lost his penchant for "bullet time" slow-motion action over the years. That mechanic is reportedly still intact.
Another rumored update is that Max Payne 3 will feature some sort of multiplayer component. We'll have to wait until the newest issue of Game Informer arrives at the office to learn more.

You're missing the point.
We've read the articles and understood that it's x years later, what we don't understand is how someone stops looking like someone alltogether.
As Lean said, Sam Fisher still looked like Sam Fisher. It's like re-doing the Hitman to look like Larry the Cable Guy (god, he's annoying) and saying uh, x years later kbyethnxxoxo.

Imo, none of the Max's look alike, anyways. Who cares when your staring at the back of their head?
Thu Jun 25, 2009 10:54 pm
But still I would take Max as the guy in a leather jacket with short hair like that.
Than this:

Still missing the point somewhat. The face doesn't need to matter, I'm not asking for a lifelife cyberface or anything. But when you think Max Payne, you think a certain look. White dude, short hair, long leather/dark jacket. Not John Mclain with a beard.
Anyways, it's merely an observation on my part that they kinda effed up on the look, I'm sure I'll still get the game, it's not as if I'm deterred from buying it. Just mentioning they effed his look up. That's not Max Payne to me.

Me too, it's just that the feel isn't Max at all. Bullet-time with Fatty-Max anyone?
Fri Jun 26, 2009 2:23 am
The only thing Rockstar can do to make up for that oversight is too have lots of violence in that game. Lots of it.
Fri Jun 26, 2009 7:41 am
Bullet time should make the enemies move at lightning speed while playing with Fats Payne.
Fri Jun 26, 2009 7:58 am
If we talk about the storyline then alcohol and painkillers can have a tremendous impact on Max's look. That's why he looks fat and old.
Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:43 am
nope, he just evolved.
i played the first two max payne games and had me occupied for some time. i just hope my pc could run the next one..

Evolved into a beer-belly-equipped Max. Problem is, the new game isn't developed by the same guys who made Max Payne and Max Payne 2. The Film-Noir style has gone and hello to a new bright sunny day.

Yep that's bad, but it will have day-night cycle.

Nice trailer. Still not buying Fats Payne's new look.

Also, merging this with the previous Max Payne 3 thread.

This game just looks amazing.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY3XQcHC2noFlashI mean, it's a buy, but I promised myself to stop buying $60 games.....
....but Steam is offering free Max 1 & 2 with preorders, so that is like $20 off, right? ....
Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:14 am
Considering how often the bundle is like $3?
Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:17 am
I got the bundle for 7.49 during the holiday sale for somebody who already had it. So, if anyone would like Max Payne 1 and 2 for free, let me know.
