EA's Poor Customer Service (Re: Crysis)

Tue Sep 09, 2008 12:02 am

So I came across this thread, and while it was pretty bad in the beginning, it gets worse:

This is about some guy's experience with Crysis and EA Customer Support. Yiikes.

Found his problem from the start, he used EA Download Manager.

Haha yes, the whole thing could've been avoided. I'd never want to use EADM to replace an actual hard copy disk.

This is not just EA. Most of these tec support things are laughable. It is all done by people living in India that don't really know english that well. You really think EA wants to pay people X ammont of money an hour to sit there and help people? that would cost to much. That is why they pay people in India for cheap. They pick the best response for what they are reading.

It sucks to see crytek go with EA. EA has started to destroy more than their fair share of games.

Luckily they're just an EA Partner, so their games appear on Steam.

That is one ignorance-laden statement.

Oh wait, you're from Utah. Carry on.

Do you think I was trying to funny or something? Many companies use these oversea tech centers. I think you are the stupid one for not knowing that.

I know. Stupid.

I was referring to your ignorance that just because they are from India they "don't really know english that well".
Believe it or not, the companies that outsource those kind of services do have strict standards when hiring personnel that are competent with the english language. The main problem is that they don't really know the product that well as for them to qualify as tech support personnel, and not because they "don't really know english that well". Stupid.
That problem isn't only limited to such a case but to tech support in general as well.

IMO, those "oversea tech center" personnel that "don't really know english that well" are even more proficient with the english language as compared to the average "hip-hop artist".
They can also be such douchebags by being a grammar nazi.

So they choose an automated response. You might as well just talk to someone who doesn't know english that well (or a robot) because you will get just as far. The main thing is most of the time these tech support places are worthless and you might as well just go to message boards. Sorry if you took offense or anything about the tech people in India....

No problem.

"Research" shows that customers prefer talking to a real person than a bot or an automated response.
Automated systems cost money for installation and maintenance. Companies would just rather save the cash by outsourcing from developing countries.

Hmm, I was going to create template responses for the NLSC moderators for common questions and issues. I guess I shouldn't.

Template responses? You're planning to do it the EA way. Have you forgotten NBA Live 07? :shake:
