Kinda late to post this but this one will surely rock the Philippines and even Malawi. This would definitely be great. Whatever the reasons are, they will play again and I'm happy about it.

Yes it's true. It's been in the works for several months na. Marlboro is sponsoring this concert and paid each of the members a staggering P10M each to do a full 45-minute set. This is the official announcement:

"No more blind items my dear friends. Yes. We are confirming it.
There is no point denying:

August 30, 2008 will be LEGENDARY!!!

The country's most influential band ever will be reunited for ONE NIGHT ONLY.

This once in a lifetime experience will be staged at the CCP
opengrounds.

Tickets are free and you can download it early August. Website to be
announced.

ONE BRAND.
ONE BAND.
ONE NIGHT ONLY...

ERASERHEADS REUNION CONCERT!"

Just proves how bad the economy is in here.

Even musicians like them who hate each other's guts (ok, so only two of them hate each other's guts) are forced to reunite for one night because the price is right.

I hope this tainted thing fails.

Eraserheads isn't the most influential band EVER. Juan de la Cruz is.

Though I agree with the idea of a reunion concert, like Wolfgang and Razorback's "Alive" concert last year. This is a good idea, so that we won't hear Raimund Marasigan sing. That assclown should stop singing and just stick to writing songs, well, writing good songs I mean.

Mon Jul 21, 2008 12:44 pm

haha, can't wait to see this one.

by the way, what's with raimund?? it seems like he's in every band in the country!! maybe he's got phobia of breaking with a band, so he joins a lot of them in the hope that when one band disbanded, he still got others left for him.

He thinks that he is a musical genius. He sound horrible. He should just go back in playing the drums/guitars.

Quit it pal. This isn't the Pacquiao-Diaz thread. Without Pepe Smith and his cohorts, the Eraserheads and all the other Pinoy bands will never be where they are. If you're thinking popularity, the Eraserheads are one of the four most popular bands in the Philippines, following Juan dela Cruz, The Dawn, and along with Wolfgang.

All four bands had their genres and shown their excellence in it. But, nothing compares to the masterpiece Juan dela Cruz is. That band is an institution.

If that post of mine made you think that I am a hater, then you need rehabilitation. I didn't say that I hate the Eraserheads.

Ok. If that is what you think. If you have that C.M. Recto attitude in you.

It pushed through..I wasn't there..Ely suffered a heart attack after 15 super songs..they never had the chance to play "El Bimbo"..so it's not yet over.

Sun Aug 31, 2008 7:44 pm

the reunion's over.. as what my friend told me, they played great but were surrounded by dead air.. and a little correction.. he suffered CHEST PAIN but not heart attack..

Wed Sep 03, 2008 9:02 pm

so typical college student guy that wants to have a verbal war each and every time, what does that chest pain means?..and his second angioplasty?..

but let's move on and pray for Ely..

Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:03 am

He just told you of what he knows of the incident, he didn't provoke you into a "verbal war."

Do you have anything else to do than call everyone a strereotype and claim that you are being provoked, declaring a one war e-war in the process?

Sat Sep 06, 2008 6:17 am

I don't know what's wrong with that guy. :shake:

Like if any Pinoy posted an opinion against Pacquiao or the Heads, means they aren't truly Pinoy? Great idealism, I say.

If this line means "provokes flame war" to you, Coco

JENZ wrote:and a little correction..

then what do you call this:

Coco! wrote:so typical college student guy that wants to have a verbal war each and every time...

Now why do people on the web hate Pinoys so much?

Sun Sep 07, 2008 3:44 pm

you don't have to put words in capital letters if you do not want to provoke anything..in other forums, it's not permitted to do things like that..and what's wrong with being typical..it's so good to be typical..it's not negative..oh come on..i didn't say anything wrong..

OMG, YOU'RE RIGHT, THAT'S INTERNET ETIQUETTE! HOW SILLY OF US MORTALS NOT TO FOLLOW SUCH A LAW

Coco! wrote:you don't have to put words in capital letters if you do not want to provoke anything..

yeah, and it was never done in order to emphasize something.

Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:13 am

But JENZ's name is in capital letters!!!111 ZOMG! It's emphasis! (just kidding, JENZ)

Whatever happened to that P10 Million that they paid each member?

Mon Sep 08, 2008 5:03 pm

Even though Philip Morris backed out (concert was picked up by Sony music), E-Heads still got paid a fraction of the amount promised to them, maybe in the range of 10-50 percent. It's more probably 10-25%.
The 10 million isn't just for the concert day itself, it includes practicing the set piece, set-up, etc. By the time Marlboro backed out, the E-Heads already have done a lot of practicing then.

Mon Sep 08, 2008 9:14 pm

i still think that the 10 million (for each member) was a bit too much for a (initially agreed) 45-minute concert. And does anybody know if they were paid equally? i'm just curious.

OT: just changed my name from JENZ to jenz.

Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:25 pm

It's 10 million for all of them, not each. It's up to them how to divide the 10 million loot, which never materialized of course.
