Best Wii Game Available?

Postby Skills on Fri Jul 04, 2008 10:12 am

I know that there's a lot of forum members who have a good sense of video games.
I have a Wii, and the games I have are Smash Bros. Brawl and Guitar Hero III (both of which I've beat).
So I'm wondering, which Wii game is the best available on the market?
I've had my eye on the following two:

Super Mario Galaxy
Smackdown vs. Raw 2008

Which one would be the best buy? Or is there a better game that I could get?

Super Mario Galaxy is not only the greatest Wii game, but one of the greatest games of all time and the ultimate platformer of history.

Runner-up: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Honorable Mentions: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
Super Paper Mario (WARNING: THERE IS READING)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Okami

Haven't played, but are well regarded: Aforementioned Boom Blox
Zack and Wiki

There are also plenty of GameCube classics to acquire on the cheap. (Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, etc.)

I've had my eye on Metroid Prime 3 as well. It looks pretty good.
As for Boom Blox, I actually played a demo of it and it's not as bad as I thought.
Problem is, the stores in my area don't have those games,
SVR 2008 is starting to look really crappy now, so I'll guess I'll go with Super Mario Galaxy. Thanks for the help :)

if youre looking for great, top-of-the-chart WII games, heres a good site to look up ratings
http://www.gamerankings.com/ [not just for WII, but for other consoles as well]
btw, anyone got Rock Band for wii? if yes, any good? if no, i may just as well patiently wait for the Guitar Hero version of it aka Guitar Hero: World Tour

As others said, Super Mario Galaxy is a must-buy.

- Mario Kart Wii
- Twilight Princess
- Rayman Raving Rabbids (1 and 2- I prefer the first one but I have it on 360 not Wii, but only because it was really cheap. Get the Wii one if you have a choice :) )

Honestly, in my opinion, the balance games in Wii Fit are worth the price tag even if you have no interest in the "fit" portion.
