Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you have or are planning on getting any tattoos. Post pics and ideas for everyone to see!

In a couple of weeks I will be getting my first tattoo. I'm still trying to make it perfect and think about the details but it is gonna be a Bob Marley tattoo with a quote on my left arm.

I have a couple of tats, was planning to get some more, but depending on where you live the prices vary widely, and it can get pretty expensive. Over here, you can get a small tat for 30-40 bucks...

I was planning to head out west for a week or so in late July/early August. Probably going to get something related to China, maybe a China flag or a huge dragon or something.

Freshman year majority of the older guys on the Ultimate team got UMass Ultimate tattoos on their legs/buttocks. :lol:

Jing you should get one of those crazy Japanese Yakuza tattoos like a dragon that takes up the whole back. those are sick.

well we went to a tournament at the end of freshman year and a couple of the older guys who were injured weren't playing, so they were extremely drunk the entire weekend and during one game they started running up and down the sidelines butt naked.

and do you mean a irezumi? I think I saw a documentary on Discovery about that, but that'd be like a couple hundred to a grand or more man, I don't have that type of dirty money.

It was something my mates and I talked about when we turned eighteen. I was never really that keen and thus never went through with it but one of my mates ended up getting one on his bicep.

i have 1 tat right now on my right arm, it is off 2 dragons coming together to form a heart and the infinity symbol is wrapping around them. then i have my wifes name undernearth both of the dragons faces, like they are looking at it

i plan to get a few more. the next one will be on the left side of my chest, it will be a shamrock with my sons name in it and that will be followed by the celtics logo on the right side of my chest. i have not yet picked out what i want on my left arm but i want it to be pretty big and cover almost elbow to shoulder. like i said not sure what yet but i will get one there some day. finally i want a back piece done and i have an idea of what i want i just have not finalized it yet. it will have a dragon of some sort but i am unsure if i want the dragon to be fighting a wizard or standing over a castle or just the dragon himself.

my wife has 5 tats herself so since i only have 1 i told her i get to get the next 4 then she can have another turn lol.

Sauru, how much did the dragons on your right arm cost you? I know different tattoo parlors have different prices but I just wanna get an idea size wise what would the cost be.

well from what i understand they cost a bit more here, i ended up paying 130 for mine and it has no color. the size is maybe a third of my arm thickness wise and half way down to my elbow

I plan on getting none. I shudder at the idea of seeing an ugly tattoo on my flabby very old skin. A dragon would look like a retarded snake if that happens.

my opinion is, when you reach that age you should not be walking around uncovered anyway lol

I have three. Pacers logo on my right forearm, it is all black with the ball as negative space (meaning it is just my skin.)

On my left forearm I have a simple broken arrow, which is the Native American peace symbol, two of the feathers on each side are red and the rest of it is black.

On my left bicep I have a dollar sign that has snow and ice on the top and is melting on the bottom which symbolizes a lot to me.

My ex-girlfriend was a great artist and drew me something with roots morphing into the japanese wave, which I am going to get on my right bicep. Underneath that on my right arm I am going to get the White Sox logo with the sillouette of the Chicago skyline behind it.

Shadowgrin, when you get to the age where the tattoo would actually look bad you won't care about what your skin looks like anyways. Its not like you are going to look at it and wish you had normal, boring flabby skin.

I still think that's a lame excuse not to get a tattoo.

Obviously if you don't want one, you don't want one, but if you want one and your only reason against it is that you think you are going to be a super flabby 80 year old, then just stay in shape.

It's not like the tattoo itself is going to change or look different.

no offense but chicks with tats gross me out. when i see tattoos, i think of bald fat biker men in a bar playing pool. i don't want to think about bald fat biker men in a bar playing pool when i look at a girl. funny story though my ex had a small tat on the back of her neck that was covered by her hair. one night i was watching the suns play when she came over and when she saw Amare she was like "ew, who would get a tattoo on their neck?"

anyway only 1 of her tats is really big, the rest are small. she has my name on her wrist, and our sons names on her neck inside a heart with devil horns and a devil tail. she has another tat on the back of her neck that is just a symbol or something, not really sure. on her other wrist she has the word passion and then on her back she has a naked faerie(spelling?) sitting by a pond. that is the tat that brought us together. i saw it and asked her about it and it went from there. if she didnt have that i never would have walked over to her and start talking

I'm all for tattoos that have special meaning. Some people just get tattoos because they "look cool". Those people are the ones that will eventually regret them.

Sauru, that's a great story about meeting your wife through a tattoo. Pretty cool (Y)

I'm getting my Bob Marley tattoo on my upper back and will be getting something else on my left arm.

My pledge bro and roommate has General Mao on his left chest, Tupac on his right, his family portrait on his upper back and a China Map with Chinese flag inset on his lower back. I think he's getting something on his wrists/elbows too but not sure on that.
