European Championship 2008

Tue Jun 03, 2008 7:35 am

Well it's about to start and the Orange madness is hitting us hard as I speak...

Obviously I'll be supporting Ho-Land (Netherlands) first off, let's hope they can make it a bit far...

Joe, you supporting Italy? :P

I was a fan of Portugal in the last World Cup, so I'll be rooting for them. I don't really like Italy too much. funny how I was never really in to watching futbol until the 06 world cup.

Ah, lots of Portugal hate to be honest, damn Cristiano Ronaldo, that bastard is good. :x

Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:04 am

man did you see his Man U goal a couple weeks ago?

it starts at 1:50 but the best view is at about 2:30

I have a feeling that Holland or Spain is going to take this one, not sure why. Germany again has a good team, but they don´t have luck in EC, like they have/had in WC-s. Personally, I would like to see Holland or Czech win. I used to like Ronaldo, but lately with all this hype(well his good, but still) I don´t like him anymore.

Go Portugal![/Cristiano Ronaldo fan]

(Surprisingly, my former hate of ManU was replaced by Chelsea some time ago)

As long as Italy doesn't win, its all cool.

Tue Jun 03, 2008 10:06 am

Agree with Jing.

I'll join the orange wave and support the Netherlands. All of the other teams play boring (i.e. Italy ), except for Germany, but I really don't like any of their players.

So happy England didn't make it. I just hate every last English motherfucker on Earth.

On a side note, the last Euro Championship was absolutely garbage. I mean, it sucked so bad Portugal managed to win. Seriously, how many times has Portugal won ANYTHING?

Hope this is a better one since I might be able to attend a few games myself.

I'm guessing you hate greeks even more. Portugal won...2nd place ;)

word.

Rooney's the one I hate the most. didn't he stomp an opposing player in the groin in the 06 world cup?

Tue Jun 03, 2008 3:25 pm

Actually you have to love the way they put Carson as the goalkeeper on a match that they could not lose.

Well, I think I'll go for Spain. Cesc, Torres, Alonso, and Villa, etc. They are the 3rd in the World rankings, while 2nd is France and first is Brazil.

Actually, I hope to see Spain coming first in the next few years. The Brazilians and the French are getting old. Many Spanish players are younger than 26. (Y)

I wonder how the second place finisher in the 2006 World Cup was failed to mentioned until the 12th post of this topic?

Bring back Zidane...one more time. No, I know that's not gonna happen. In the meantime, anyone but Italy...

Tue Jun 03, 2008 4:46 pm

Nah, it will be Spain. But don't forget surprises like Greece! :surrender:

-1 respect point for Shadow.

+1 respect point for Joe.

Since, I don't like many Netherlands players, I'll go with Portugal, wich was my team after Argentina's elimination in 06.

Jing wrote:As long as Italy doesn't win, its all cool.

I second that.

So my anticipated final would be Portugal vs Germany

Lol yeah, whatever, you get the point.

+1 respect point for Joe.

Do I get a cookie?

word.

Rooney's the one I hate the most. didn't he stomp an opposing player in the groin in the 06 world cup?

Yeah, he did. He recently had to pay libel damages to Everton's coach, too. Kid's a brat.

My English hate is much wider, though: I meant every English citizen on Earth, not just their soccer team, lol.

Nobody mentioned them because they're probably gonna get kicked out in the first round by some random underdog.

Their team is too old to go anywhere.

On a side note, loving the universal Italy hate

3rd that actually.

Go Switzerland!

The home team is bound to give a nice performance, I hope they do well.

Italy is the big favorite to win it but I think it will be a surprise team again like last time; perhaps Russia, Romania or Croatia.

Wed Jun 04, 2008 5:42 am

Croatia for the win! They eliminated England!

Wed Jun 04, 2008 6:14 am

Qballer, damn, I just watched the video, the goal is sick !

I think Portugal is going to win it, even though I am not standing tall for anyone specially.

Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:11 am

Wow I never bothered to watch the video... sick goal.

Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:53 am

As a Thierry Henry fan, I am rooting for France at Euro 2008. (Y)

Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:55 am

Henry is getting old... Trust me - it's Spain. By the way, Cannavaro got injured recently in a training session. Great news, right?
