Color question and problem

Postby Leander on Sun Apr 27, 2008 4:11 am

Hi!

I'm just playing around with Corel Photopaint and have a problem with colors. I use Corel Photopaint from Corel Suite 11.

I made a jersey (not 100% clean at the moment) and its colors are different in Photopaint and the game or even Windows Explorer.

I used the colors "Herbstorange" (something like autumn orange) and "Dunkelmarineblau" (something like dark marine blue). It should be dark orange and dark blue...but when I save the picture and view it with Windows Explorer it is a brighter orange and a light blue.

Image

Why is that? Corel Photopaint uses 24 bit colors per default. I changed the picture to CMYK 32 bit and then the colors are ok in Windows Explorer. The problem is that I could only save it as JPEG and not PNG. I need a PNG for the jersey texture.

How do I get the colors I want? I need a dark orange and a dark blue.

Does Corel have the ability to load an iccprofile? That's what photoshop uses to match the color photoshop displays to the color your monitor displays.

"Adobe RGB (1998)" is the international icc for computer display.
