Sixteen year old arrested for father's murder

Tue Mar 25, 2008 10:58 am

Story
A TEENAGER has been arrested after he allegedly fatally stabbed his father and critically injured his mother this morning.

Police were called to the family home in Baulkham Hills, Sydney, about 7.15am after reports a couple had allegedly been attacked with a knife by the youth.

A middle-aged man died at the scene in Bernadette Place, shortly after paramedics arrived.

A woman, 40, was treated at the scene for multiple stab wounds and was taken to Westmead hospital, an ambulance spokeswoman said. Her condition is said to be critical.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy at the house and he is assisting officers with their inquiries.

I've just heard that his mother has died from her wounds after being rushed to hospital. I can't even begin to fathom what drives people to do something like this. I went through some teen angst as most people do, I certainly argued with my parents and I even played violent video games if we're going to throw that theory out there but I could not imagine being motivated and willing to take someone's life, especially my parents'.

UPDATE: Apparently the report that the mother had also died is false, though she remains in a critical condition.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new. This happens a lot. I think a lot of it has to do with the environment they're grown up in, where murder around them happens all the time.

I have to agree with cyanide there. Maybe because the teenager has been scolded repeatedly by his parents and he cannot take it anymore that's why he did it.

i'm sure theres alot to a story...i always wonder if the parents did something to deserve it in a way (well as much as anyone can deserve to be killed...). I'm not talking bitching their kid out, thats a parents job. Im talking about the extreme fucked up situations; abuse, drugs, molestation, any of those fun things that happen....but yeah pretty messed up..

hey, some people deserve to die. not saying that these people did, i dont know the situation, but sometimes a kid can only take so much

Hmm, this gives me an idea. That old hag has been scolding me non stop.

Thanks Deidei!

Scolding? Kids are so sensitive these days.

The thought that the parents might have done something to the teenager crossed my mind though I don't think that justifies murder, especially if all they did was scold him or forbid him from going somewhere or something of that nature. From the initial report, it didn't sound like he was a victim of assault.

the kid is still wrong!! he should respect his/her parents even though he/she was scolded..

Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:02 pm

True, but above all he shouldn't have murdered them.

i agree if it was only being "scolded" then he went wayyyyyy to far. sometimes though parents do things to thier kids that in my mind anyway warrents murder

If it was just scolding, then there's something deeply wrong with the kid. I can understand if he was sexually or physically abused, but scolding? Hoo boy, that is screwed up.

I think he was referring to parents as pedophiles. Not that I think they're deserving, but a lot of people would say so.

Thu Mar 27, 2008 8:40 am

If they were indeed pedophiles or abused in some other kind of way of their son I think killing them was actually doing them a favor. Those kind of people need to be locked in cages in the middle of the desert with the minimum amount of water and food necessary for them to keep living and suffering.

The problem with people making that argument is that it almost justifies killing another human being and in my view, the circumstances in which murder can be justified are very rare and basically limited to life-or-death self defense.

Even if he was suffering some sort of abuse at the hands of his parents - which from the initial report seems unlikely but I guess that remains to be seen - surely there were other ways out of the situation.

to be honest, killing someone who molests children is better for them. life in prison would be a far worse punished for them

Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:36 am

It's a punishment they deserve though. Obviously, a prison sentence spares a criminal's life when they may have taken or destroyed someone else's but I can't imagine it would be much of a life, particularly if they're in there for molestation.

Lol Jackal , i just said that because that's my theory of want happen.

Any way i agree of want Sauru said. Any parent or bad person who molest kid shouldn't just go to prison because they doesn't deserve it. They should at least be punished physically.

Fri Mar 28, 2008 10:00 am

Like how? Public floggings? Surely we're a bit beyond that. I guarantee if someone goes to prison for molesting a child, they're in for some physical punishment.

Fri Mar 28, 2008 10:44 am

no doubt about that, probably by the guards too

Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:04 am

Yes, I imagine such inmates "fall over" a lot.
