What is a simulation league?
It's a league where 30 members take the position of a NBA team and manages that team from depth charts to transactions.

How is it simulated?
Simple answer here. NBA Live 07 on PC with the SUM Mod.
Using season mode, the off-season moves being done via forum.
Progression done based on last years stats in the league using formulas I have derived.

Fantasy Draft?
12 Round Draft, 1st Round consisting of drafting the player you would like to keep from your team.

NBA Salary Cap vs League Salary Cap
NBA Salary Cap=$55.63 million
NLSL Salary Cap=$60.63 million

Why the higher salary cap?
Just to make things a little easier on us.
That extra 5 million can go a long way for some of the poorer teams of the league.

Team Salaries?
They are based on real life salaries.
BUT you ONLY have to pay for the players who are actually on your roster in the game.

How do trades work?
Teams below the salary cap may trade without regard to salary, as long as they don't end up more than $100,000 above the cap following a trade.
Teams above the cap (or teams below the cap but would end up more than $100,000 over the cap following a trade) cannot acquire more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary they trade away.
If a team acquires a player in a trade, they are allowed to trade that player straight-up for another individual player immediately. However, if they wish to package that player with another and make a trade, the team must wait 60 days before doing so.

The way trades work sounds complex.
Well theres a few great tools. RealGM: Trade Checker being one of them.
It's easy to use but as teams change more and more within the league thats where team salaries comes into use. Simple math guys.

Is salaries the only judgment that pertains to what is called a fair trade?
No. Players' overalls are also very much taken into consideration. So is age.

How does signing of free agents work?
Simple. Make a offer on a player.
If nobody outbids you within 72 hours.
You get that player assuming you can actually afford him and his agent accepts your offer.

How much do you offer a player?
Some players will sign for league minimums.
Some superstar players will ask for the league maximum.
Others will ask for somewhere in between.

What's the deal with releasing players?
We are going to do things a bit different here. Make it a little simpler.
If you cut a player you still have to pay for his contract BUT if another team signs that player within 72 hours, they take on that players contract.

Draft Picks?
Draft picks do NOT count as money to balance trades out. But what they do do is count towards balancing overalls out.

More questions to be answered soon.

lol You banned me from the site. That is a harsh punishment. Is it for me not posting?

Also, is the site down? Whenever I go on it, I see a similar error page to the one when NLSC goes down.
