The movie other than American Gangster you need to watch this Summer!
Since American Gangster is coming out first, you can go see that first.

Damn it Sit. You're posting like Dwyane. Continue doing that and I might mistake the both of you as the retardo brothers.

Is it so hard to give us more info on the movie? That poster doesn't exactly make me run to the movies to line up...

I belive it is based on the novel. There's a disease that turns everyone into vampires except for the main character. Who then goes around killing everyone else.
EDIT: Indeed it is. Also, from Wiki:
In June 1997, director Ridley Scott and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger entered talks with Warner Bros. for I Am Legend, based on a script by Mark Protosevich. Actors Tom Cruise and Michael Douglas were previously considered to star in the film.[6] The following July, Scott and Schwarzenegger finalized negotiations with the studio.[7] Production slated to begin the coming September,[6] with Houston as a stand-in for the film's setting of Los Angeles.[8] In December 1997, the project was called into question when the projected budget escalated to $108 million due to media and shareholder scrutiny of the studio in financing a big-budget film.[9] Scott rewrote the script in an attempt to reduce the film's budget[10] by $20 million, but in March 1998, the studio canceled the project due to continued budgetary concerns.[11] In August 1998, director Rob Bowman was attached to I Am Legend,[12] but he moved on to direct Reign of Fire.[13]
In March 2002, Schwarzenegger became the producer of I Am Legend, commencing negotiations with Michael Bay to direct and Will Smith to star in the film. Bay and Smith were attracted to the project based on a redraft that would reduce its budget.[14] However, the project was shelved due to Warner Bros. president Alan Horn's dislike of the script.[15] In September 2005, Warner Bros. hired director Francis Lawrence to helm the project, with production slated to begin in 2006.[16] Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman revised the script,[15] with the story being moved from California to New York to take advantage of locations that would more easily show emptiness.[5] The story was also written to be closer to The Omega Man (1971), the second film adaptation of the novel.[17] In April 2006, Will Smith signed back onto the project, with production to begin in 2007 in New York.[18]
Oh movie industry.
EDIT V2: Trailer looks lame, and subsequently, movie looks lame. But what else is to be expected....

The main reason you should all watch it is because it stars Will Smith, and Will Smith, next to you know who, is the greatest man alive!
Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:00 am
Has Will Smith ever been in anything good (aside from Fresh Prince, of course)?
Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:39 am
The Pursuit of Happyness was good, imo. I've heard he was good in Six Degrees of Separation, but I have yet to see the movie.

not sure what your opinion on these movies are but they were all well received
MIB 1 and 2
independence day (though over time people saw that it was crap)
ali
bad boys
The Pursuit of Happyness
on top of those i enjoyed
the legend of bagger vance and hitch. hell i even somewhat liked i robot and everyone i know hated that lol
Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:57 am
I forgot about Ali. The MIB movies were OK, but far from good. I've either never seen the rest of those, or I thought they were total crap.
Fresh Prince owned, though. Especially his old school rap albums with DJ Jazzy Jeff. DJ Jazzy Jeff is the man.

like i said, they were just really well received. personally i didnt like independence day, either the MIB movies or the bad boy movies. i did enjoy ali and the pursuit of happyness though, plus the others i mentioned which he got bashed for

I believe that Will Smith is the only actor, apart from Tom Cruise (I think), who has opened to five straight movies that have made over 20 million. I guess it's just because he appeals to different audiences.
I find it a shame that he hasn't acted in too many serious roles as he was great in Ali and Pirsuit of Happyness. He's often been stuck in action-comedy movies.
TheMC5, I think he's just really versatile as he's had forays into TV, movies and music. There will always be people who don't like him or like him... but to be able to be successful in all three areas is a testament to his talent.
Has anyone seen Enemy of the State?

Has anyone seen Enemy of the State?
I actually liked that movie.
Even I Robot was pretty entertaining in a mindless kind of way I guess.
Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:36 am
Oh, it's not that I don't like him (see: Fresh Prince) or question his talent, I just dislike most of the movies I've seen him in. For the most part, it's just standard Hollywood junk, with a few exceptions.
Also, comparing someone to Tom Cruise is NOT good for their credibility.

I havent seen enemy of the state but i must admit i did not enjoy Wild Wild West (Turning down the Matrix for that was a big mistake IMO) and iRobot...

Comparing someone to Tom Cruise the actor and from back in the day isn't bad. If you were looking at present day, crazy, Mormon Tom Cruise... yep, that's pretty bad. I was referring to the other one... Not sure if it was Tom though but I'm sure it's got to do with being one of only a very small minority of actors to have been in 5 straight (or more...) 20 million+ grossing movies or something crazy like that.

he's not Mormon, he's Scientologist. there's a difference. Mormonism is much worse.

haha, Mormon Tom Cruise
back on topic, I'm a big fan of Will Smith's....I just like the guy....he seems pretty genuine....I loved Fresh Prince of Bel Air....his movies however have been hit or miss....I didn't mind one of the Bad Boys movies, the other one was worse....I hated the MIB movies....Wild Wild West was one of worst movies ever....Ali is alright from memory....I went to cinema to see Pursuit of Happiness....well acted, alright movie, just a bit slow for my liking....I didn't mind look of the trailer for I Am Legend, but I'm a fan of movies/shows/books about stuff that threatens the end of humanity (i.e. Stephen King's The Stand)....in the end, I'll probably just hire the DVD out when it hits video stores....
Tue Nov 06, 2007 8:46 pm
my bad, i keep thinking mormon for some reason. Yeh, meant Scientologist. Which reminds me, Will Smith rejected Cruise's offer to join him.

What makes you think its worse? Because it is more far fetched you mean? They are both silly religions with goofy origins.
Fri Nov 09, 2007 6:35 pm
Mormonism is not much worse. Mormons can't sue you if you try to leave the religion. Scientologists can and will, and they'll be successful, too.
Also, if anyone ever has to go to drug rehab for any reason (like court ordered or something), stay the hell away from NARCANON. It's run by the Scientologists as a recruiting ground.

I hate to bump an old thread but anyone see this movie? I thought it was amazing and very unique but the ending had me in shock and a little disappointed. Anyone else care to post their opinion?
