Chaser's War On APEC

Surprised no one has posted anything on this one! :D

Not sure how many non-Aussies know about the Chaser's War On Everything but these dudes did a stunt yesterday and drove a motorcade into an APEC restricted zone posing as people with the head of Canada I believe. Police actually let them get thisclose to Bush, whom they are sposed to be protecting...

What's more, one of the boys (Chas) was dressed as Osama Bin Laden. Not sure if it makes it even more funny is that there were snipers on top of the building they were getting close to... the cops claim that anyone coulda got hurt in this stunt.

Funny stuff nonetheless. :D

- not so funny for them since 11 of them will be charged and might face up to 5-6 months jail I think it is.
- Everyone going crazy about how the 'biggest security operation in Aussie history' was breached... Jae can tell us if it's a bitch to get around Sydney this week :D Not sure if he lives around the area where they've set up all the security and stuff (not familiar with the geography there

So do you guys reckon it's funny? Or crosses the line for you?

I think it's funny. After all, the whole point was to get past the security and apparantly they didn't think they'd get that far... and decided to try and get out of there after being only 10 metres away from the hotel. I wanna know the reaction of the cops once they saw Chas as Bin Laden inside the car. :D

I'm wondering how they will present it or if there's anything to present from this on the show next week...

Let me say this and i may get yelled at by Benji and Riot here...but to me the idea of American security is not true security usually. Usually it just gives the illusion of security. My team and I have gotten significant sized knives, liquids, and many other "banned" substances through airport check points. I would think for the president being anywhere security would be tighter than a moles asshole but apparently not and i'm not really that surprised.

I didn't think it was particularly amusing, though admittedly I'm not a fan of The Chaser. To me it just seems that there isn't anything clever to their antics, it's just a willingness to make a spectacle of themselves and for me that just doesn't pass as wit.

there's still 3 of them left... acutally reminds me yesterday the 3 remaining cast went around sydney with black cardboard boxes and canadian flags... they were questioned by police. (Y)

And Drew, didn't think you would be in the age group that they mainly aim at entertaining. You're ancient aren't you? :P

I didn't say no one in the older age group watches it... I was merely saying whom they were aiming to. Off course there are exceptions. :D

I'll be 23 in about month but there are times when I feel a bit ancient.

I don't know, a few of my friends really like The Chase but as I said I'm just not a fan. It could just be me, after all I can't stand Borat yet a lot of people think he's hilarious.
