Cavs Association: The King & I

The Cavaliers major spark of attention was back in 2003 when they drafted basketball superstar LeBron James in hope for a brighter future with a fresh face to take them to victory in the ultimate goal of becoming NBA Champions! Since then, the Cavs are known as a underdog team trying there hardest just to make the playoffs itself, and as great as young LeBron is he just can't pull it together with the team he is working with. Now the attention will really light up as General Manager Brent Harrison wants to take the team to new levels by making snap trades and signing effective players right away and building a great team around the player that stands out most.

Cavs Want to Revamp the Roster

Today, General Manager Brent Harrison for the Cleveland Cavaliers made a short announcement in a Cavaliers press conference; Harrison said that the Cavaliers roster this season will undergo a few changes, going on he said “Right now I’m unhappy with the current roster for the Cavaliers and plan on shaking up the chemistry by getting our hands on some younger talent with potential waiting to be tapped”. With this said in such confidence Brent Harrison assured the public that within the first month of the NBA Season will bring some new faces to the Cavs, and possibly say goodbye to some old ones.

Cavs GM Happy With Raptors Trade

Already the buzz begins in the Cavaliers locker room as a trade has been made. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded longtime Point Guard and now former captain Eric Snow along with Small Forward Ira Newble and just recently signed Free Agent Point Guard Travis Best for Guard Fred Jones of the Toronto Raptors with 2nd Round Draft Pick & next years 2nd Round Draft Pick aswell, not only that but Cavs also signed Free Agent Guard Voshon Lenard straight after the trade. GM Brent Harrison spoke on behalf of the team and said “We felt Snow & Newble had their moments with the team and at their age there was not much to expect from them in the upcoming years, although with Jones & recently signed Lenard we look forward to working with them and feel they will be great team members playing the Guard spot nicely. Usually Lenard plays at Shooting Guard & Jones plays 1st at Shooting Guard and 2nd Small Forward, we want to take their game to Point Guard aswell and at 6’4” both, why not? They could play most positions at a height like that”. Going on Harrison talked about why he liked the trade, he said “I felt this was a good trade for both teams, with the cap space available on the Raptors budget and the need for more players, we just had to take advantage. This works for us both and I’m glad we could come to a great understanding”. Pleased with the trade & signing, Cavs are now ready to do battle in tomorrows first game of the season against the Washington Wizards, who knows what will happened!

Very nice trade! Works for both teams and Freddy is a great player (dunker)

I have always liked Voshon, so this is turning into a very good roster. I like it! (Y)

First Things, First!

Image @ Image

Wizards: 17 - 35 - 54 - 78 LOSE
Cavaliers: 22 - 49 - 67 - 83 WIN!

In the first game of the season the Cavaliers took care of business showing they are still dominate over the Washington Wizards. Facing off at the Cavs home court the momentum was definatly in their favor, they started their attack down low in the post through out the game and found themself lucky with snatching up a few good fast break points. In the final quarter the Cavs became too over confident with the nice lead and the Wizards took advantage of that and struck back with alot of steals from inbounding the ball and taking a few open jumpers. In the end there could only be one winner and the Cavs held on and stepped thier game up in the final minute claiming the game theirs as Wizards tried fouling to stop the clock. The end result was good enough for Cavs players, but the real challange lies ahead facing the Spurs this following week, never the less the Cleveland Cavaliers are happy with their win.

Very nice! But I dont like Darko and I like Gooden, so that is a bad trade for me. But that is just my opinion...

My Blazers signed Latrell Sprewell! Haha nice, I am happy with that. I didn't even know he was still playing lol.

Also how come it says 3-0 in the title but I have only seen 1 recap?

But anyway this is looking nice (Y)

It's actually 3-1 now thanks to my loss aginast the Hawks just then(don't ask me how that happend), but i figure if i recap every game then i'll be too busy with the computer more than just having fun by playing the game.

I might in the upcoming week just give some short results of my wins & losses so people don't get too confused and know whats going on.

Thanks for the compliments yet again Scoop

This looks good dude, I thinkg you might have given up too much to get Darko, I guess it all depends on how he improves.

You raped the Raptors in that first trade IMO, once again though it will depend what the draft is like wether those 2nd rounders will be worth it.

I look forward to more updates (Y)

Well it started off me trading Drew Gooden because it free'd up some cap space because the draft picks look good this year plus i want to have money to sign certain players back. But now i free'd up a lil more cap space and got a way better deal anyway then the Gooden Milicic trade by getting Al Harrington who is actually better than Gooden, so looks like things may work out well better than planned.

Stay tuned guys to check out my next game recap and have our GM speak on the trade and talk about the team

PEACE

Oh and i forgot to add this in my last msg but i'll quickly do it here...

Has anyone got this on Xbox 360 and had all their Game Settings & Sliders reset to default whenever you use your development points on players??

This is what happend in my very first Association and it does the same in this one but i just don't do it anymore. Question is, can i use use my development point on the players and not have this happend every time? Or do i just sit back and watch the game develop them automatically year by year without being able to work on their development points??

21/11/06: A Fight For Victory

Image @ Image

Grizzlies: 24 - 51 - 71 - 101- (OT)109 LOSE
Cavaliers: 29 - 54 - 76 - 101- (OT)116 WIN!

In the Cavaliers battle against the Grizzlies on tuesday, hometown team Cleveland knew nothing but winning against the Memphis Grizzlies, although there was no doubt that the Grizzlies would not give up for even a split second. Trading baskets the whole game but thier could only be one winner and the Cavaliers prepared themselves to have a good mind set with some words of advice the previous day in training by coach Mike Brown that really stuck with the players and kept them focus. Leading most of the game it was until the 4th quater where the all-too popular confidence and cockyness had kicked in for the Cavaliers and seen themselves yet again slacking off on defence whilst the Grizzlies stayed at their same pace and brought the game to a tie in the final seconds. What could have been a last second buzzer beater by LeBron James failed, it was back to the bench and ready to get back on track. Speedy footwork up and down the floor and excellent team skills proved that the Cavaliers could claim a comfortable win in the overtime.

Key Player Highlights
Image
LeBron James: 18 Points, 8 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 5 Steals
Image
Mike Miller: 17 Points, 5 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 3 Steals

Noticable Court Talent
Cavaliers
Larry Hughes: 19 Points, 2 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 3 Steals
Daniel Gibson: 16 Points, 3 Rebounds, 9 Assist, 5 Steals

Grizzlies
Damon Stoudamire: 16 Points, 1 Rebound, 6 Assists, 0 Steals
Rudy Gay: 12 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 1 Steal

SLAM OF THE GAME

Image
Harrington getting air and dunking past the defence!

Other Highlights
Gugliotta spin off the post jam
Rudy Gay going big on the fast break with hard slam to the rack
King James rising to the occasion with a high one hand alley-oop jam
Big Z's power dunk off the inbound pass

(Off Topic)
I have alot more updates to do on my Association but i havent had enough internet time keep everything up to par for what i have been doing in the game, but for now heres a little recap which i hope you'll enjoy. In the next couple of days i'll give a short list of results for my games in the previous month so everybody knows whats going on and who we might have lost and won to.

Man I really enjoy this, the quality is great. I must admit though this section has been really dead though lately. Hopefully it will bounce back soon.
