Help with deciding on a laptop

Wed Mar 07, 2007 3:13 pm

Hey all well I have started an accounting course and it is due time that I get a laptop. But with so many laptops around I am getting really confused. So down to the nitty gritty (what I want):

- A dual core processor
- 1 GB Ram
- 80GB+ HDD
- 256MB+ video memory
- Wireless and bluetooth
- Preferably on XP

I have about $1800 NZD (About $1250 US).

So if anyone can help me or make any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!

I got one custom-built from hp.com. hp 9000t series. couldn't be happier.
I got a computer that's easily over $2000 US for $1500.

"Hello I am looking at purchasing this laptop "Asus Z53Jc" it has the following specs: Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5200 (1.6GHz, 667MHz, 2MB L2 cache), 1GB DDR2 667MHz SDRAM ( 2 x 512MB modules), SATA 100GB HDD, NVDIA GeForce Go 7300 External 128MB VRAM (TC 512MB).

Is this laptop capable if playing the game on full graphics with lighting turned on? What are the minimum requirements for lighting to be turned on? I have looked all over the place in various forums on this site but have not found an answer to the question."

This is a question I asked EA support, didn't give me a good answer at all... All they answered was what was on the back of the box for the minimum required specs....

What I wanted to know was does anyone know the minimum specs for lighting to be turned on and if this laptop would be able to do that???
