Never Drive Drunk On 3 Wheels

It's a dead give away:

W.Va. Man Drives Oldsmobile on 3 Tires

Dec 15, 9:56 PM (ET)

BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - David Woods' Oldsmobile obviously needed some work, lest of which was a fourth tire. But that didn't stop the 30-year-old Meadow Bridge man from driving the older model car on three tires and a rim to the local auto parts store Wednesday night.

He didn't make it far.

Beckley Police Detective Sgts. Dean Bailey and Gant Montgomery said the car was speeding and "all over the road."

Police also noticed that the car's front fender was off and debris was falling from the car. As the officers caught up with the Oldsmobile, it swerved sideways, apparently because it was riding on three tires and a rim.

The car finally stopped behind an auto parts store.

Police later arrested Woods and charged him with driving under the influence after he failed field sobriety tests.

Bailey said the man told him he was en route to Auto Zone to buy parts for his car and thought he could make it.

Ok, whats with posting a million threads a day? Shouldn't the mods be discouraging spam rather than encouraging it?

Interesting that you consider posting interesting stories and the like in General Talk as spam... What I find interesting is that these are all articles that I come across on other forums, and they all get pages of discussion, yet nobody seems interested here. Maybe a demographic thing; I don't know. At any rate, it's an attempt to keep people from saying that there's nothing interesting to discuss on the forums. So, I see an article, and if I find it interesting, I share it. If you consider that spam, then we may want to consider canning General Talk all together, eh? Or would you rather me just sit on the articles and post them at a rate more suitable to your liking?

What I think is that you're doing what Mazzochi used to do and he was called a spammer.

That's all, I enjoy reading the little articles.

I'd have to agree with Axel.

What you're doing is insane, and not within the spirit of the forum.

At any rate, it's an attempt to keep people from saying that there's nothing interesting to discuss on the forums.

It's obvious that you're only making the threads to be the one to spark the discussion, to be able to claim "well, i tried" and not because you're interested in them, which is discouraging for poster's to post in. It's not hard to copy+paste and submit. Why not write your own article? Something of worth?

There's nothing special about the articles if they're all posted in such large quantity.

There's nothing wrong with what you're doing, but there IS such thing as overkill. Nearly every thread in the past few days was made by you! And while i don't mind the articles, and they're mildly entertaining, your post above unsettled me a little.

Interesting that you consider posting interesting stories and the like in General Talk as spam...

You were planning to play these cards as soon as someone brought up your thread-bonanza up. That's pretty clear.
What I find interesting is that these are all articles that I come across on other forums, and they all get pages of discussion, yet nobody seems interested here.

The other forum would have been different because the articles would have been posted by a different user each time.

I analyse things way too deeply. And am probably a bit overcritical. But i speak the truth. i found the post by bigh0rt annoying also, and it forced me to bring up my issue with it. Most people will have no problem with it.

Anyway, carry on.

I actually did consider that Fitzy, but I wanted to leave room for discussion without confusion - know I'm sayin'? As I said, in the other forums I've seen/posted at, probably 90% of General Talk is funny happenings and articles (along with personal stories, venting, etc. like we have here) that people then discuss and either stray elsewhere for whatever reason or have a serious discussion about, etc. depending on the nature of the article. As I said earlier, I'm not sure if it's a demographic issue or what, but I only post what I find interesting and think is worth sharing with others, some of which are enjoying it and others aren't. I'm just gonna keep doin' my thing, cuz. 8-)
